I have two little girls (three and two years old) and I wanted to introduce them to the joys of learning via video games. Elmo's Letter Adventure is an excellent place to start. Although learning how to use the controls isn't easy (I help alot), it's worth it when I see them jumping and clapping when they guess the right answer. It's alot of fun for all of us! Yay Elmo!
THIS IS THE 2ND PART OF THE ELMO SERIES. THE FIRST IS NUMBERS. ALSO A MUST HAVE FOR THAT YOUNG CHILD. THIS ONE TEACHES LETTERS AND HELPS TO IDENTIFY THEM. GET IT BEFORE THE PRICES ARE OUTRAGEOUS
After winning the bid on this item, I was contacted by the seller and told they did not have this product anymore, therefor I can not give a review on this product.
While this has great potential, I don't like it. My 4 year old wanted her own PS2 games... and I found there aren't many EC rated games. I thought this would be great since I read it was very educational - so I bought it. I think this would be OK for a child who has not played (or little play) on a PlayStation. My daughter had played other games before this (though, not EC rated) and this "game play" was way to "beginner" for her. The educational aspect of it was right on target. She loved looking for letters but the way this game is made - it was more a pain than fun. I think it could be greatly improved.
This is a wonderful game. My son loves playing it and it has really helped him to recognize letters. Within a week he was able to name the letters. It is perfect for preschool age kids.

Pros: cute character that most kids love
Cons: very hard to control
Elmo's Letter Adventure is a Playstation game geared to children ages three to six. When I first saw this game I though what a wonderful idea to make a game for the little ones. I know most kids want to copy what their parents do and my daughter is no different. Of course my hubby would let her play a bit of the Gran Turismo, but she was always frustrated because it was so hard. So when I saw Elmo's Letter Adventure in the store I purchased it right away. And using Elmo was a great idea, what kid doesn't know who that cute cuddly red monster is. In this game you control Elmo through different.

Pros: Teaches sights, sounds of ABC's and simple words
Cons: None
I stumbled on Elmo's Letter Adventure back in February while searching for the perfect gift for my grandson. I was somewhat leary, thinking it maybe way to tame for him, with not enough action. He has played Playstation or Nintendo 64 since he was old enough to hold the controls. I live on the East Coast and my daughter and her family live in Alaska. I get to see my grandchildren once every year. One turned four in February and the other turned one in March. During their last visit I realized he didn't know his ABC's. He played playstation from the time he got up till he was dragged away...

A must have for all toddlers and preschoolers

Pros: teaches the alphabet through fun playing
Cons: hard to find in stores
This is one of the best games a toddler or preschooler can own. It is full of action and adventure, yet teaches so much. As they play, they learn the alphabet. Parents will love to watch as their child learns each letter and can recognize it and pick it out of different letters. It challenges them only to the point of them not knowing they are actually learning and not just having fun. And, the best part for the kids- they are learning from some of their favorite characters!

Pros: ease of use
Cons: none
My 2 1/2 year old daughter received this game as a gift for Christmas, and I really thought at first she was too young. But I was suprised to find that she can navigate through the game with ease. She has two older brothers that play other playstation games so she's only watched. This game finally lets her play. Elmo is so cute and all the other Sesame Street Characters are helpful throughout the game. Plus the added feature is learning the alphabet not only by sound, but by letter recognition. She is already, at only having the game 1 week able to tell me a couple of letters. I can't say...

Too Much Fun To Be Educational

Pros: Educational
Cons: can be boring for older children
We bought this game for our son when he was in preschool and it is still a hit. I will admit that parts get boring as they get older so it is definatly game for the very young but he is now in first grade and loves to get to the bonus round and practice his spelling. Elmo takes his trip through the apple orchard on a pogo stick, a land rover on a distant planet, under the sea swimming, and through the cornfields. Based upon the level of difficulty they need to find a certain number of letters to win. Also the difficulty level determines whether or not they look for both the capital and lower..
