This movie captures the hart and the Imagination... From the moment Eliot and E.T. Meet to the tear jerking goodbye of two seasoned friends this show will keep you entertained. It is the story of a boy who disovers alien life and creats a bond of friendship so strong that when E.T.'s death appears eminent Elliot almost goes with him... You just have to see this classic story of friendship that your whole family is sure to love

This is a clasic. The most adorable Extraterestrial movie ever. I purchased because I wanted my daughter to see this movie and I thougt it would be a great bonding movie. It was and 18 years later I still cried for E.T.

I bought this for my granddaughter because she is just 8 years old and had never heard of the movie. Her mother (my daughter) and I had gone to it together when it first came out and I thought she would enjoy seeing something her mother had seen when she was close to her age.

This is a great movie for all ages. Some of it is funny some of it is sad but you will not be dissapointed I have a 4 year old 2nd cousin that thought this movie was cool. Steven Spielberg is a genius this is in my opinion one of the greatest family movies of all time.

Bought this DVD to replace the VHS version I already had from years ago. I enjoyed it just as much watching it this time as the first. My kids are enjoying it all over again as well.

One of the most perfect movies of all time. For one Drew Barrymore is my favorite actress, since this movie I might add. It's a bit earlier than my generation but my brother saw it in the theatre when it came out and so I know all about it from him. :) Very touching, I cried alot sad and happy.

Let me tell you a brief story I once heard in a sermon. That story involved a visitor, a visitor who descended from the heavens. He came and brought joy to the lives of many. Teaching the importance of love and healing the sick and the wounded. He died, but he was raised up again, for a time, before he ascended back to the heavens from whence he came. One of my favorite films has always been Steven Spielberg's E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial, his gentle fable about the unlikely friendship between a boy and a funny-looking botanist from another planet...maybe from another galaxy. E.T. is just one of those movies that holds up perfectly over time. The story is one that is so simple that you can understand it at any age. There's no age limit on knowing what it's like to have an important friend come into your life. It's very sweet and touching, but not so sickeningly sweet that it's off-putting to audiences over the age of 5. And although it involved a lot of special effects, they aren't so overwhelming that they look horribly dated 20 years later. E.T. is one of the best movies of all time, and did not need to be improved. When Steven Spielberg was asked witch movie he would like to be remembered for, he picked 2, he said Schindler's list and E.T. Both movies were nominated for best picture (not this version). I think kids can handle the fact that if an alien for another planet came to earth and the police set up a road block to stop it, they would not leave their guns at home. Walt Disney killed Bambi's mother for God sake and we all survived that one. I have nothing bad to say about the original,it was and is a perfect movie....
