Dyson DC17 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

I just purchased my Absolute Animal DC17 Vacuum three days ago. Prior to that I had a filter queen vacuum and a bissel steam cleaner. I try to steam clean at least twice a year with my allergies. Before purchasing the Dyson I decided to vacuum my carpet twice daily for a week just to see if the Dyson was better then my filter queen. I expected it to pick up some dirt even after the constant vacuuming. WELLLLL, in the two days I've used the dyson in my living room, dining room and hallway I've filled five FULL canisters of dirt and nearly filled a sixth canister. For curiositys sake I decided to try a little of the zorb today and was thoroughly impressed. A little went a LONG way and it really did make a big difference in the high traffic area inside the back door. It left the carpet much fluffier and lifted the pile very nicely. I guess my only complaint would be the owners manual. They really need to put into words how to work different parts of the machine not just show a VERY few pictures. And yes a headlight would be nice but it's not really a big sacrifice. I'd prefer a machine with no headlight that takes up the dirt to one with a headlight that leaves it behind.

Stay Away from This Seller. I ordered a "Brand New & In Box," Full Warranty (5 Years)Vacuum and received a dirty, Used, Re-manufactured, Vacuum w/ and a 6 month Warranty. When I plugged it in -- it Burst into Flames. Then The Seller had the Gaul to deny any problem to PayPal. Well -- PayPal made it right -- but This Was A Royal Pain. I hope these characters victimize Nobody Else.

The Dyson is great and I love it. It picks up so much from the carpets and the extension hose allows you to reach high.

I bought a new Dyson DC17 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum, it showed up on my doorstep and hasn't stoppedamazing me. It has so many great features. I especially love the fact that it is self contained with the telescoping wand. This vacuum allows me to clean my 16 step flight of stairs with out having to move the vacuum from the bottom of the stairs. One feature that I also love is the fact thatwhen you tilt the handle down to vacuum underneath coffee tables it lays practically flat so that you can vacuum under the whole thing without having to move the table. Also the vacuum came with a few very handy attachments such as the animal attachement and the attachment that allows me to vacuum underneath my bed. This vacuum cleans the carpets with amazing efficiency and you can actually see the results in the clear plastic canister. I would highly recommend this vacuum to anyone with animals or anyone that just desires extremely clean carpet.

Best vacuum ever. Used this vacuum right after using my hoover wind tunnel and it pulled up a lot of dirt that was left behind. They are pricey but well worth it.

Finally everything fell into place for the win and the price. Its ok. Im not sure if it is worth the money. I have a hoover that, while did break after a year and a half, picked up as much dirt

The cleaning power of this vacuum is unbelievable. I have pets, that's why I wanted this particular vacuum and it does what it is advertized to do. You won't be disappointed if you buy one.

It cleans great My wife loves it I will buy one agrean if i need to. I would reckamened having it if you have dogs in the house

This is an incredible vacuum. Easy to use, extremely light weight. Does an excellent job on carpet,hardwood etc. Very quick and easy to use telescoping handle and on-board tools for quick crevice cleaning, steps, ceilings etc.

Let me start with that the unit does have good vacuum and a nice long cord but that is all I can say good about this vacuum cleaner.

Unit seems like they really went wrong when building the rest of the vacuum cleaner. The carpet beater is light weight and does not beat the carpet well to get the deep down dirt, only has brushes instead of a beater and brush. Does not have a light for getting in hard to see area's, (never thought that light did so much until I did not have it), this maybe because of the size it does not get under to much anyways. The vacuum is just cheaply made and do not see it lasting to long for the money paid, parts seem like very cheap hard plastic I am sure will break after a few times of dumping the dirt out. My old warn out vacuum works better than this thing.

My advice is to by another brand, buying this model will be the worst thing you could ever buy. It does not clean as advertise and is a very big disappointment I am very sad to say. Sorry Dyson, you need to go back to the drawling board.

Most vacuum cleaners suck, or rather, don't. This vacuum cleaner is amazing. We had to empty it three times and that was only on the first floor! We have dogs and cats so lots of fur. It was wonderful to see the design on the carpet after vacuuming. Usually I have to drag my foot or a we rag across rug, etc. to get up all the fur.

If you want a vacuum cleaner that works - DEFINITELY consider a Dyson.
I read lots of reviews - and while the "professional" reviews listed other brands as a best value - Dyson owners LOVE their Dysons. HANDS DOWN this is the BEST Vac I have ever owned.
I was kind of leery as I hate the dust and dirt that goes everywhere with a "bagless" but not with the Dyson- Flip the lever and the canister empties into your trash with almost no dust escaping.
One drawback - the instuctions are not great. But by looking at the pictures I figured out how to put the handle on (I'm blonde!!!!) all is well.
Why after only a couple of days do I feel this way - We are remodelling our home. We pulled up all the carpet that was going to the trash but left what we wanted to keep in place. We have pulled down walls and ceilings and literally there was drywall dust everywhere.......my old vacuum would last about 2 - 5 minutes before it was clogged and would not suck. The shop vac did better but no beater bar...lots of crap left in my carpet. The Dyson - WOW even when the canister was full it kept right on working.

easy to use. easy to empty dirt. Does great job cleaning carpet and gets the cat hair from our two cats. Hose a little stiff but great product.

Great vacuum. I used my Oreck first, then went back over with Dyson Animal. Amazing how much more dirt and pet hair it picked up. Love it!! And purchasing it on Ebay saved me almost 30% of MSRP.

I really like the vacumn it really picks everything up and I got a great deal on it. I saved a lot of money and I am impressed. It was heavier than my other vacumn and I was surprised there was no light but it works so well I will get over that.

I purchased to Dyson vacumns from this seller, both were either missing parts, gear stripped in one doesn't work other missing parts hose broken makes noise like gears going out....Watch out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friend told me about dyson. It is really really powerful. Suction is very powerful. Negative on it is that it is heavy to push. I thought it would have power drive. . It really really cleans. very happy with it.i do want warranty cant find web site please respond

I owned a Dirt Devil and pretty much hated it since I got it!!! Regardless to say I am SO happy to have finally replaced it (after 6 years) with the Dyson Animal! The Dirt Devil only appeared to be taking the surface dirt, but the Dyson not only gets all the surface dirt but it really seems to be cleaning deep within the carpet! We have a dog and this vacuum gets up all the hair! I love the vacuum "attachments" that are right on the vacuum! The only bad thing is one of the attachments doesn't seem to stay on, it constantly pops off. But since this vacuum is exceptional, I can deal with that!!! This vacuum has appeared to help my son's breathing...my son appeared to have some sort of allergy since he was only a few months old, always "stuffy", has now cleared up and breaths MUCH easier! This vacuum is great and really worth the e-bay money!

An outstanding performer. The Dyson replaced an aging Hoover self-propelled Wind Tunnel and picked up dirt from various area rugs that the even when new, the Hoover had not been able to get. It’s actually a little upsetting to now know how much dirt we were living with and thought that everything was clean. Pet hair from 3 dogs is no problem either. The Dyson is an incredible machine and well worth the money spent on it. There really isn’t a downside to the machine, but…, it took a few minutes to figure out the hose/handle configuration which could have been eliminated with more detailed instructions. It was however, a minor inconvenience when compared to the results the unit produces. I don’t believe you can do much better than a Dyson.

I have pets and this vacuum thoroughly cleans up after them and my family. The suction is as stated.

We never received this product, we believe this to be a fraudulent sell. Our money was taken immediately and then with our despute we only received less than 1/2 back from paypal. This whole situation makes me extremely uneasy and unwilling to purchase fom Ebay.

My wife and I decided to buy a Dyson Vacuum because of the quality of the machine and the name that stands behind their product.
We have all seen the cheesy commercials on TV but all that aside they are a great machine.
We have a cat and a dog in a small house and the Dyson Animal 17 gets all the hair and dander from our carpets and floor and furniture.
We couldn't believe how much dirt it picked up and this after my wife vacuumed with our old central vacuum.
It does not loose suction and it is easy to empty the canister with only one hand.
It's hard to believe that you could actually get excited about a vacuum cleaner but we love it.
Drawbacks I would have to say would be the price (unless you get a good deal on EBAY) and the mini power head that is powered by the suction of the vacuum itself rather than by it's own motor.
If your looking for a vacuum that really sucks (in a good way) than this is the one. I highly recommend it!
