I heard "Come undone" on the radio and had to have it. Awesome CD! Great e-bayer too! Fast Shipping, I always love that!

The Wedding Album is excellent, even with a couple of flat tracks (so many bands seem to have filler songs that they like but lack being either catchy or artistic). Having listened to D2 for over 20 years now, I respect their diverse abilities and penchant for trying out new sounds.

  Duran Duran at their best
Review created: 12/05/07

I have been listening to Duran Duran for as long as I can remember. They seem to carry on a similar sound and theme throughout their carreer but it works for them in my opinion. Check this album out for yourself. The singles on the album are slightly different from their usual work, but the rest of the album which is all new material not re-released, is similar to their 80's pop.

The Wedding Album. A 'must have'

First of all, I want everyone to know that when I rate the "GOOD", it is JUST THAT! To me, an excellent rating would mean that I LOVE EACH and EVERY track from beginning to end! Though this release is a GREAT album, it does have one or two duds.

I love Duran Duran, and really didn't appreciate their artistic style until I was a little older. The artistic style of this CD follows more of the current times with just enough Duran Duran flair to be unmistakable and a must own for true fans.

The two HITS on this CD are Ordinary World & Come Undone, and in my opinion, both are great tracks! I think I listened to both tracks about 10 times per day when I broke up with my girlfriend at the time! Both songs have a somber yet promising feel.

The rest of the CD has an interesting sound. It explores styles that were surprising to me Duran Duran would try. The good news, they do it well! One song even reminds me of a PRINCE song! (Shotgun)

In conclusion, this is a good CD that would compliment any collection. Make it part of yours!

A different sound for Duran Duran

Pros:
Some great tracks...

Cons:
Duran Duran's last great album.

Duran Duran is more than just an MTV phenomenon. Their success first came in the form of stylish music videos. The band was identified as a sort of British boy band with wonderful good looks. I still can see their wind-whipped hair in music videos like the one for "Rio". It's almost embarrassing to admit that they finally reached musical maturity with the release of their self titled 1993 album (better known simply as The Wedding Album). It was after the release of this album by Capitol that I realized that it was possible that I, a rock fanatic, had a soft spot in my heart for Duran Duran....

If Nine Inch Nails were techno and upbeat, this is what they would sound like.

Pros:
The first few songs. Funky beats.

Cons:
They tend to get boring. The album runs on too long.

Duran Duran came out in...I don't know. I don't really know anything about these guys, someone gave me this CD last summer, and I only heard about 1 song by these guys, it was a single and I forget the name of it. I would guess they came out in the 70's and were big in the 80's. Can I go threw this review without giving some background information? Possibly. HA! I'm now answering my own questions. The German alphabet is funny to hear. But if you have about 14 people singing it in German...its like the voices are taking over. No offense to anyone that is German. So, Duran Duran released this...

Just like the Elvis '68 TV special.

Pros:
Sterling production, hit singles, strong album tracks, and an inspired Duran Duran.

Cons:
Runs a bit long at 62 minutes. A few songs could have been taken out for a more concise album.

Duran Duran's self-titled release came out of nowhere in 1993, featuring two top 10 singles, and a band that was lean and mean. What's more, Duran Duran seemed inspired, honestly for the first time since Notorious. Duran Duran, oft-titled The Wedding Album to differentiate it from their debut album of the same name and due to the photos on the cover, is a good album. Its finest moments form a creative peak for the post-Seven And The Ragged Tiger lineup of Duran Duran. If not for this album, I wouldn't have discovered Duran Duran's amazing earlier work. So for that, it holds a special meaning..

Pros:
"UMF" and John Taylor!!

Cons:
It was made after the height of their career!

Duran Duran '93(The Wedding Album)is not quite the caliber of some of their previous works, but I'd say it's been more successful than 1988's "Big Thing" and 1990's "Liberty". However, the songs on the album hint of something other than wedding themes. There's nothing traditional or conservative about it, as the album's cover art might portray. Since the album was released in February of '93, listeners are not going to hear any familiar tunes such as "Hungry Like The Wolf" or "Rio". Instead, they'll hear songs such as "Too Much Information", which tries to match the pattern of rock during the.

  Not quite ordinary

Pros:
A few good hits

Cons:
A few crummy misses

I grew up on Duran Duran, but left them in the dust during their "lean" years. So I was both surprised and glad to see them make a grand return in 1993 with the release of their self-titled album as well as two #1 Hits in "Ordinary World" and "Come Undone". Of the 13 songs on the album, there are about 7 or 8 good/great songs, leaving a few that should have been rewritten or else used as B-side songs for the singles. Too Much Information - Duran Duran kicks it off with a great guitar rockin' thumpin' song about the demise of their career via MTV. Top 10 Single. Ordinary World - #1 Smash...
