Pros:
Allan Sherman's voice work, wonderful songs, delightful entertainment for the whole family.
Cons:
Unlike the book, lacks clear moral. The DVD has promo for the awful live-action adaptation.
If you ever have the misfortune of watching the appalling live-action version of The Cat in the Hat, this delightful animated version of Dr. Seuss's classic tale is the perfect antidote. The cartoon isn't completely faithful to the book, but it effortlessly captures the story's anarchic and ingenuous spirit. Just as children will want to read the original book over and over again, they will feel the same way about the cartoon. As in the book, the Cat in the Hat arrives at the house of two bored children to liven up their rainy day. And as in the book, he proceeds, with the help of Things One..
