You find Dr Dre influences in so much of rap today, it pays to go back to the source. 2001 brings Dre back where he belonged....in the studio. This time for himself. Reestablishing his presence as rap, hip hop and funk royalty. It sounds like he might have even enjoyed himself.
The baddest CD around. I mean it just don't get better. I listen to this one more then any other. For some reason this one takes me over the top. To Cool to personify!...Roland
I remember hearing this CD when I was only 11 and thinking man this CD is the best.Ever since then my opinion hasnt changed.Im now about to turn 19 and I can still listen to these songs day in day out.The beats are good,The lyric are good,The guest artits are good this whoe CD is just amazing.I wont be suprised if ten years from now i still feel the same thing about this CD.this CD will go down in history as one of the best Rap CDS put out in the 2000's
GREAT CD, I WAS LUCKY TO GET IT FROM A GREAT SELLER!!! A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I bought this item mainly because of the price, and also because when it first came out did not pay any attention to this cd. But after listening to it with a friend of mine I knew I had to have it.
I kind of grew up in the Dr, Dre & Snoop Dogg era; To me, their music & style is a cut above the reat and they are legends. The old school rap & hip-hop lyrics are more my speed. Highly recommend because they are the best!
This is actually my second time buying this album, the first was literally worn out. The beats and lyrics on this cd are second to none. The original chronic album was great, but this one was even greater!
I like the entire CD because I am a dire-hard Dr. Dre fan. The tracks have an excellent beat and the lyrics are true to Dr. Dre's usual products. Every thing this man touches turns to gold.
Dr Dre at his best again, this is another classic album from the Dr himself. If you claim you listen to rap, then you must know at least five or more songs on the album
This c.d is solid from the first track, all the way to the last track. Nothing but tight production. Every artist fits in on this album perfect. The one thing I noticed that was missing was Daz Dillinger , who completes the other half of the DPG ,Kurupt is on this album. I would have like to hear Snoop on a few more tracks . Otherwise this is a 5/5 album just like the first "Chronic ".

Pros: Dope first half.
Cons: Not as much the second half.
It's one of the great debates of our time -- which is better, Dr. Dre's The Chronic or 2001? OK, so not really. Any true-school hip-hop head's supposed to tell ya that Chronic's easily the better album. If we go by influence? Can't really dispute that. But for those of us who were super-rebellious middle schoolers when Dre began his late-'90s Slim Shady-fueled resurgence, ya might get somethin' of an argument. As someone who didn't really get seriously into hip hop as I was growing up, I have little bits of this album that I remember around the time it came out. "Still D.R.E." being seemingly.

"N----s try to be the king but the ace is back" - Dr. Dre returns....

Pros: The BEATS!!! Some lyrical maturity. Some of the guests.
Cons: Wack Aftermath guests. Skits. A few too many weak second half tracks.
Things done change for Dr. Dre huh. This fabled Westcoast producer has seen virtually everything there is to see in the rap game, the highs, the lows, the wins, the losses. Given his immense track record, producing hits from artists as diverse as Snoop Dogg to Mary J Blige to Eminem, you d think this Compton, Los Angeles born producer would have released more than two solo albums. Oh no. Any hip-hop head who s a hip-hop head will know about The Chronic - the name virtually speaks for itself. The album that started a genre. But through the 90 s Dre s been through it. His bad-tempered split...

What An Amazing Return

Pros: Hardcore beats, Amazing Lyrics and Great Songs
Cons: NONE
After his last album "The Aftermath", Chronic 2001 is something you would never expect. It blew up the charts staying number 1 for a long time. Dre's first CD "Chronic" was good. It was gangsta and hardcore. Those are the two things that he's good at rapping about because that's what he is and has always been. Chronic is slang for Pot. This is another one of my favorite CDs, next to Snoop Doggy Dogg's CDs. It has very well written lyrics. There's many hidden messages in them. You might hear it and not know it because lots of them have to do with things that have happened to him in the last...

Chronic 2001= the Shronic 2001?

Pros: Does feature some classics
Cons: Guest appearances, takes up too much space on the mic
N.W.A. have been one of my favorite groups of all time and have had a heavy influence on me. Not only were their lyrics g'd out but the production, courtesy of Dr. Dre, appealed to me. After breaking from the roots of N.W.A and Ruthless Records, I grew more on Dre's productions when he formed Death Row Records with Suge Knight. Some of the finest Gangsta productions I've ever witnessed, I never would have thought Dre would have gone from his productions back in the days to this. Don't get me wrong, this album is still packed with a HELLUVA lot of bangers, but this album can't touch his...
