Rarely is a punk CD called a masterpiece... but Green Day's Dookie is pretty close. Before American Idiot and their recent revival - before Nimrod and other CDs - Green Day had Dookie. What a fun album. I remember first hearing the CD and loving it because it was so new and so different. Each song is unique and each track sits nicely beside the other. I've always defined great albums as those that you can listen to from start to finish and enjoy the entire experience. Dookie certainly fits that bill. There are the classic songs like "Welcome to Paradise" and "Basket Case" - but there are many other gems like "Pulling Teeth" and "Coming Clean."

I absolutely needed to buy another one because it is a wonderful CD. I believe that some of the songs have become some of the "new" classics! Green Day is the Ultimate rock band! The title of the cd makes great conversation starters =)

When I Come AroundDookie is one of those classic CDs that takes you back. I remember wearing out the cassette in my truck when it was first released. I've probably owned 10 different copies over the years. Classic punk for the masses and still good after all these years. 4 Stars.

Green Day has got to be one of the best bands around. Many have labeled them to be punk music. I don't think they are "puck". Maybe "punk-esque" would be a btter analogy. Their style is certainly too individualistic. I personally love every single song on the album. They have a great variety of topics about life that they cover in their music. This is a keeper for all times in my collection. There is also a hidden track about 2 minutes after the last song has ended. It is ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS! You gotta hear it!

Great album... their first BIG HIT. This is not only a great record, but a MUST OWN for ANY Green Day fan. "Longview" is by far the best known song on this, followed closely by "Welcome to Paradise" and "When I Come Around". It features more of a punk sound to it, with that special Green Day thwang to it. So just quit your b!tching and get it!

I purchased this CD (Dookie-Green Day) for my 10 year old son who is a big, big fan of Green Day. He received all A's and B's on his report card this card marketing. He plays it day and night and Daddy recently down loaded it on his Ipod. Mom loves the low price she paid for it and Nicholas loves the music. Thank you again.

Any fan of Green Day shoudl also buy there cd 1039, Smoothed out Slappy Hours... the collection of all there first recordings..this and "Dookie" are the best of Green Day..and the video to Basketcase is halarious.. very colorful..i grew up loveing this video... and this band...

so if your young and love the american idiot cd- your not a punk.. If you wear your sisters pants and act alittle "odd" -your not a punk.. If your spun in your parents house writing songs around 5:30am -you actually might be a punk.. But really this cd was late for its time- i remember this girl in class was all about the dirty punks- and i just wanted to get dirty with her.. so i was all dirty punk skater and bagged that shiii... ya. Then classes ended and we sort of grew up.. Now i want to get dirty w- the secretary- so i have to be a rich bi**h. Timeless classic.
