Don't Shoot Me I'm Only the Piano Player - Elton John

Pros:
The singles Daniel and Crocodile Rock, the transition into more mainstream albums

Cons:
The bonus tracks are redundant and unnecessary

Elton John's success in the 1970s was a progression with some nominal hits as early as his second album, Elton John with a top ten hit Your Song, and with each album Elton released he received either more success with the singles released or critical acclaim. Elton's music has been more often than not been strictly piano ballads with few exceptions, but hardly commercial as he would become more and more. Pros:
Beautiful and professional pop rock

Cons:

The next single, "Honky.

Pros:
Elton John at his peak

Cons:
lp package-a little small

In October 1972, with my then girlfriend, Linda, I saw Elton John in concert. My mind boggles now at the songs he must have done. All songs off his early albums. But the high point, what I remember most clearly, is his saying something like This is my new single off my new album. It comes out next week. I hope you like it. He then blasted into CROCODILE ROCK. Needless to say, the crowd went wild. Whether that s why I have such a fondness for this album I can t say. Regardless, there is not a weak track on this disc. DANIEL opens up the proceedings, and few better opening tracks have ever...
