Digital SLR Cameras & Photography for Dummies by David D. Busch (2005)

It is a great book for beginners, it explains quite a bit about the camera, and basic shooting. If your looking for something to go in depth about how to understand SLR lingo and such this is not the book for you. If your a pro get a pro book, if your a beginner get this book

I like purchasing "For Dummies" books because they usually get straight to the point. This book is very detailed...the only thing is, it can get very confusing for someone, like me, who is new to photography. I don't have an SLR camera yet so I can't relate to the "f stops" and "angles" yet, so because of that, I need to take notes so that I can remember everything better.
I'm sure once I get my camera, I'll be able to follow along with what I'm reading in the book. Until then, I'm just gonna keep on reading!

I THINK ALL THE "FOR DUMMIES" BOOKS ARE PRETTY WELL DONE. THEY USE HUMOR TO HOLD YOUR ATTENTION. THIS BOOK IS ESPECIALLY GOOD FOR BEGINNERS I THINK. I'VE BEEN DOING THIS AWHILE BUT I ALSO READ SOME TIPS AND IDEAS I HADN'T THOUGHT OF OR HAD THOUGHT OF IN A DIFFERENT WAY. I'M ALWAYS LOOKING FOR GOOD IDEAS. THIS BOOK HAS SOME.
