Diddy Kong Racing (Nintendo 64)

It isn't common to see a game directed towards a pre-teen audience be as explosively fun and popular as Diddy Kong Racing. Unlike Mario Kart 64, this game features something unique to other racing games: a well detailed adventure mode. In fact it's extremely similar to 3D platformers such as Super Mario 64 or Banjo-Kazooie. You drive around the beautifully rendered 3D world, find Levels (or "domains"), and then within those domains, you must race and win. The object of the game is to collect Gold Balloons (similar to Power Stars in SM64 or Jiggies in Banjo-Kazooie), which can be obtained by winning races. Some of the later courses in the game require a certain amount of Gold Balloons in order to access them. The game has bosses that you must defeat, powerups you can use, and characters you meet to help you on your quest. Although this is a racing game, I would consider it closer to a 3D Platformer, and a great one at that. Definitely pick up this title.

Awhile ago my little brother sold most of our N64 games (wanted money didn't play them), this is one I had to buy again. It is an old school racing game. Unlike the mario carts, its not just races. You can see the genie to change from car to plane to hoovercraft. My son is only four and loves it....so does my boyfriend (he played two hours when it came) and he's twenty-three.

I like it because i used to own one, but i sold a while ago and it is great to have it again. dont sell things that are fun and u play all the time.

LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS GAME, FUN GREAT FOR ALL AGES AND IS AWESOME FAMILY FUN RACING. IT CAN BE HARD TO FIND LOCALLY AT PAWN STORES OR SECONDHAND SINCE THE NEW WII AND PS3 CAME OUT BUT IT IS AVAILABLE ONLINE AT EBAY IN SO MANY AUCTIONS NEW OR USED AMAZINGLY. THERE ARE OTHER ONLINE PLACES TO BUY I THINK BUT EBAY IS THE CHEAPEST AND EASIEST WAY FOR ME TO BUY SO THAT'S WHERE I GOT OURS. I WOULD RECOMEND THIS GAME TO ANYONE WHO STILL OWNS OR IS GONNA BUY A NINTENDO 64 IT'S ONE OF THE BEST GAMES MADE FOR THIS SYSTEM.

I love it. All the different characters, and all the unique fun levels! It's hard to get bored of this game!

This is an awesome game! It has a sweet twist on Mario Kart 64. There are more players rather than just the classic Mario Brothers characters that Mario Kart 64 has. Diddy Kong and his friends are trying to collect balloons by winning races in a car, in a plane, and in a hovercraft! That is a nice change from Mario Kart as well, where you can only race in a car. LOTS of levels in this one! Great game!

It's a fun racing game that the whole family can enjoy. It has cars, hover cars, and airplanes. With many options for single and multi-player gaming.

I played DK Racing not long after I got my first 64 and played it all the time with my son. I bought it this time to introduce my girlfriend's daughters to it. It still has the same charm as I remember. Being on an older system, the graphics don't hold up to today's standards and they shouldn't! Most of the tracks are easy to memorize while a few have several different paths you can follow. There are many secrets to unlock (places and characters) and of course three different vehicles (car, hovercraft, and airplane). Each race uses one of these vehicles so you must master all of them. To sum it all up - DK Racing (in my opinion) is a fantastic game for all ages with multiple game systems. The graphics are very good for an older system and it will challenge anyone - especially if you haven't played in 5 or more years and must relearn the game. Buy it today and enjoy it and remember days gone by.

While its full of adventure and plenty of tasks to accomplish, Diddy Kong Racing is not as easy as it may seem. If you are looking for a racing game similar to Mario Kart this is not it. Yes you may race but the karts are move difficult to control and there is the option for hovercraft and airplane. It does give you more of a variety and you can take on racing a rhino or grabbing eggs.

Technically I haven't tried to play it yet because it's a Christmas gift, but it only took a week to recieve it after paying.

The game was in great condition. I bought it because it is a classic & brings back childhood memories. Theres nothing I didn't like about it.

It's a great classic and it's fun for everyone. I bought it because I never beat the game before and wanted another crack at it after purchasing a nintendo 64 at a yard sale.

This is one of my favorite games....I loved it when it first came out and I bought it for my kids, and I love it now.

love the versitility of the players and you can choose different kinds of vehicles. Can loose interest very fast.

This is my second favorite racing game. It has so many levels with so many challeneges. You can race in the adventure mode or against friends. The ballte games are fun too.

I like play the game my son like playing it to we have fun play it went he come over to see me. I had this game about 6 year ago We got a N64 back so I like play it so I went on Ebay to see if I could find it and we find it so I play it all the time

I love this game cause you never get bored of it. The racing tracks are challenging and really fun while playing against others, plus it fits most generations.
It's one of the best games to play by yourself and with others.
I definately recommend it.

I buy these games for my husband mostly, but i too love to race occasionally. I am more into Quest games, adventure and some Simulation. My husband loves this game as well as his many other racing games.
