Devil's Advocate (1998, DVD)

Great movie for anyone who wants to teach on the temptations of greed, power, and lust. That being said, it does have nudity, foul language, and some violence. Notwithstanding, the plot is solid and the acting is strong (minus Keanu Reeves’, same financially rewarding one-character-in-different-costumes routine that he has milked since “Bill and Ted”).

This movie will move you like no other!! Charlize Theron is wonderful, as are all of the cast. You couldn't pick better actors for the characters.

The movie can be seen as Holywood enterteinment and thats fine. However, if one has spiritual thirst, the movie will be seen in a different light. Devil's Advocate presents tests for the trendy up-and-coming young professional, it shows how ambition, even when perceived as mild, can be toxic. In this case, a lawyer, Keanu Reeves, has to make descisions under difficult circumstances threatening his marriage an his soul. If you think this might be something of interest - consider geting the DVD, so that after seeing the movie you can see the detail comentary by the director/producer.

Pacino is awesome. Lots of hidden messages, a movie you'll want to watch more than once.

The movie is on once in a while, but now I can watch whenever I want. If you like Pacino, you'll love this movie.

This is one of the best ones I have seen in a while. Al Pacino plays the devil's role perfectly. Some people think he has horns, a pointed tail and a pitchfork, to the contrary, he is smooth,urbane and wickedly charming. Otherwise, who would listen to him? Al does wonderfully at this. The plot line is great, and the selectionn of characters is good. The ONLY reason I didn't give this one an Excellent is that it portrays the main character's mother as a backwoods religious fanatic, unattractive and the follower of an abysmally ignorant faith...Christianity. It's Holllywood's sick version, and one DOES get tired of it. I have never seen the Faith portayed otherwise, but then, it must be correct, after all, a Hollywood producer says so!

Devil's Advocate - This is a movie that will make you think about certain choices you've made in your life. The story is excellent. You should see this movie at least once in your life. Just don't get roped in by the dark side.

I saw this movie appear on my Cable Guide and remember seeing it long time ago. I decided to get it because I remembered it was a really good movie.

It has great acting by Al Pacino and it's one of Keanu's best roles. Shows how life of a successful lawyer can turn out when you choose the wrong paths and how the world can treat you when you do. It has a great twist at the end and is an overall excellent movie, I rate it a 9 out of 10.

To some people the negatives are alot of cursing and some nudity.

Highly recommend buying this movie.

We Americans love our cheese! This not a particularly meaningful film but it is worth watching for Al Pacino's Performance as the Devil.

Pacino chews up the scenery here. He intentionally plays it way over the top. He leaves Keanu Reeves in the dirt. I think director Taylor Hackford chose Reeves for the role because he does favor Pacino a bit. Reeve's southern Florida accent is as bad as his English accent in Bram Stoker's Dracula.

The only performer who can stand with Pacino is Charlize Theron. Theron, who is South African, has the perfect southern accent. A great early performance from Theron!

I purchased this film because of the great acting by Pacino, Theron and NO film with Delroy Lindo can be all bad!

Haven't received the DVD yet, but I know what I'm buying. This movie is one of Al Pacino's best, and Keanu Reeves is excellent in it too.
Great storyline, makes you feel for his wife with a real twist in the end.

I love that movie, I actually like Al Pacino's performance better than any movie he ever done before, even Keanu's acting is awesome too and of curse, let's not forget the girls!! charlize theron, well SHE IS CHARLIZE THERON, what I think its really sad is the fact that Connie nielsen, (Keanu's half sister) hasn't gained enough popularity in the land of the movies cause she has huge talent!...as you can see there is nothing I dont like about this masterpiece, and I consider it one of my favorite movies of all time!

This is a great movie filled with intense visual effects. If you blink once you just might miss something important.

This is one of my favorite movies and I was gald to get it for so much less than I would have paid in a store. I have had back surgery and it is difficult for me to shop in a regular store, so to be able to get what I want, when I want it at a discounted price makes me very happy.

I enjoyed the movie. There were no scratches on the DVD and everything played fine. The shipment came in on time and I have absolutely no complaints.

Well written and acted portrayal of the corruption possible in the legal
system. Very energetic and moving. Should be an inspiration
for the viewer to beware of the temptations of the system.

Good heaven/hell movie. al pacino is great. good film. A small city lawyer who has never lost a case is brought to a new firm in New York to work for Al pacino. As the movie progresses, he notices that things aren't as they appear to be.

This is a very disturbing movie and it will keep you up nights. Finally hollywood portraying Satan a lawyer gives this movie a plausible plotline.

Pacino plays the devil better than you would expect and Keanu Reeves even suprised me with a few tidbits of acting talent.

Charlize Theron provides great scenery too pushing this movie into the NO KIDS category.

Pachino fans rejoice! Pacino does it again! To fans of the great man, you will find that Big Al makes this movie which has become one of my all-time favorites.

Great movie! Really freaked me out at times , great plot and look out for the twists and the ironic ending !
