Desperate Housewives - The Complete First Season (2005, DVD)

The women of Wisteria Lane drew enormous interest in the media since this adult rated TV show began airing on ABC. The story revolves around Martha Stewart-perfect Bree (Marcia Cross), who has it all, until she finds out her husband is cheating on her. Gaby (Eva Longoria) is a bored trophy wife whose predilection for shopping and clothes are the perfect decoy for her affair with the hunky teenage gardener (Jesse Metcalfe). Former career woman Lynette (Felicity Huffman) is the most stereotypical housewife, raising four kids and frustrated, and Susan (Teri Hatcher), the divorcee looking for love sees her prospects brighten with the arrival of hunky plumber Mike (James Denton), who has some desperate secrets of his own.

It is a fast and wild mix of plot and characters that made this a hit show. There are 23 episodes on this DVD set presented in widescreen format, and six of the episodes can also be viewed in "unrated, extended" versions. More fun is the five leading ladies' separate commentaries on few of their favorite scenes discussing the characters' clothes and homes, the show's appeal, casting decisions, the show's much-hyped secrets, and how naked Teri Hatcher had to be. Last, and least, there is a segment in which Oprah moves to Wisteria Lane.

I was very Pleased! My Desperate Housewives Season One set looks brand new. And the price was unbelievable.

i wanted it because i like the show and i wanted to see the episodes i didnt see before. i bought this specific one because it said it was NEW, but when i received it the corner was heavily damaged. it was very bent and ripped. the discs were fine so to save myself trouble i just decided to keep it. not only did i have a problem with the product, but this seller made me pay 3 more dollars for shipping and handling because it aparantly was sent to the wrong address. i know this is false because i checked what i had typed in again and it was correct. plus, the seller wasn't even going to resend it without me asking about 3 weeks later why i still had not received it. the shipping process wasnt my fault and i shouldn't have had to pay the fee. i was very unimpressed and not satisfied.

The DVD set is amazing your glued to the tv. till u have watched all cds in all seasons. gorgous women awesome characters and a great set

When I first heard about this show, I assumed it was a vapid night-time soap opera. It is indeed a soap opera, but it is clever, funny, suspenseful, and dark--all in one show. The characters are riveting--whether endearing, infuriating, or both--and you'll become invested in what happens to them next. I highly recommend this engaging comedy/drama!

I really like the ladies from Wisteria Lane, it has drama, comedy, and more. I wanted to buy it because the show airs on Sunday nights and I work. I plan to buy the next seasons also.

"Desperate Housewives" is an absolute phenomenon! Since that first episode the I have been hooked. This is easily the most popular show in the country...is a breath of fresh air. After so many of my favourite TV shows ended in 2003 and 2004, I was looking for something new to watch, but I never thought I'd find something as brilliant as Desperate Housewives. A mix of great comedy and pure soap opera. It has mystery and romance, twists and cliffhangers.You will get sucked in.

Well worth the time to watch. Much entertainment for our whole family. Will make you want season 2.

My fiance bought this to see it from the beginning. She just got into it this season and wanted to watch the first season to better understand it. She loves it, and says it is a very entertaining show.

I bought this dvd for my wife. She loves this show. It was a used dvd, I expected there to be a little bit of scratches but the dvds were in perfect condition. Very good product. Also the shipping was very fast.

the show is funny,i think it will become a modern day classic,can't beat the humor,and the shows are hour long shows not 30 min. I think there are about 4 shows per disk,I acctually had a marathon I wathced all of the shows it took about 2 days to watch almost non stop.

I decided to buy this for cost as a XMAS present for my sister. Hope it works, have not tried it but came packaged nice and promptly sent. Good Quality visually and I was pleased. A+ seller
