Dell P1500 Laser Printer

If you are printing multiple pages in one job, then it could be considered fast. For shipping labels, it's a bit cumbersome, but the printouts are reliably crisp.

Get the warranty. The original printer was a lemon, as were several replacements. After 5 replacements, I have a winner. Common problems to look for are misaligned rollers that crinkle the pages, inability to grab paper, grabbing too many papers, and static electricity build up that causes no ink to deploy onto the paper.

A good replacement has lasted over 2 years, which is longer than I expected the printer to last. Overall, I am very happy with the P1500.

The ink is $100 per cartridge, and I recommend buying them through Dell. The office stores can't be trusted since they often have expired ink and tend to sell a refurbished cartridge.

It has a very good text quality to it , and above average graphics as far as black and white or greyscale goes. The only thing that doesn't allow me to give a full 5 stars is that there is a prolonged warm up time if it has not been used for a while. Warm up can take over a minute before your printing comes out. Once it does come out though, it comes out at a fairly quick rate. I got it because it was low cost and the toner cartridge costs are average in price, not too expensive as laser printers go. I like that you can get a 250 sheet drawer for it, which is handy for high print yield people.

I've had this printer for several years now and I love using it! It uses a minimal amount of ink so that you rarely have to replace the toner cartridge. After it warms up, it prints exceedingly fast and well.
It's really easy to unjam it. The only time it really gets jammed is if it takes two papers through instead of one. Simply open the printer and pull the paper through--as simple as that!
It's easy and quick to install and also warns you plenty in advance when the ink is getting low.
For everyday documents and black and white images, this printer is absolutely awesome!
