  Still Worth a Spin...
Review created: 06/02/07

A neglected Floyd gem - that is if you enjoy listening to the post-waters incantation of the band. Though Roger Water's absence is felt, David Gilmour did do a superb job at filling the void here. No surprise the album has that retro-80s feel; but nevertheless, the sound is very upbeat, energetic, and worth a spin every now and then.

Price and availability and speedy delivery. This cd is one that I haven't found anywhere else. This cd is very rare and to stumble across a mint condition unopened version of it is amazing!

always wanted a live pink floyd album. some of the versions on here, especially on the turning away, comfortably numb and even learning to fly, are awesome.

Delicate Sound Of Thunder is a Momentary Lapse of Reason Concert!
Review created: 04/05/02
by: surferdude7 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Great Live Pink Floyd Sound!

Cons:
Not all of the Concert music are on the double CD set!

Pink Floyd s Delicate Sound of Thunder was created from the 1987-88 US and World concert tour after releasing the CD, A Momentary Lapse of Reason. This was the first Pink Floyd concert that I had a chance to see Live at Rupp Arena in Lexington Kentucky. This is also the first concert tour without Roger Waters. Delicate Sound of Thunder showcased some new songs from A Momentary Lapse of Reason but the biggest part of the concert was the old stuff like Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Money, Another Brick in the Wall and more. Delicate Sound of Thunder was released as a double CD set on November 22.

Pros:
Good sound

Cons:
Adds little, for fans only

"The Delicate Sound of Thunder" is a live Pink Floyd 2-CD greatest hits collection recorded around 1988. While pleasant enough, this one is primarily for Pink Floyd groupies. Save your dough if you are a casual listener. I've been listening to this band for about 30 years and recognize their place in the rock pantheon. Although I think there are better musicians around, their writing, production, engineering and record performances changed the pop music world forever and "The Dark Side of the Moon" and "The Wall" are two of the most influential rock albums ever recorded. That being said, what.

Delicate Sound of Thunder - The First Album in Space
Review created: 09/30/02
by: moonwalker84 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
"Learning to Fly", and some good renditions of Floyd classics on Disc 2.

Cons:
Some classics are totally ruined. What is the point of Disc 1?

On November 26, 1988, a Russian cosmonaut onboard Soyuz 7 took aboard with him a 2-Cassette set of Delicate Sound of Thunder, making it the first album to be ever taken into space. This historical value may be the only thing the album is worth. In 1984, after the release of his solo album The Pros

Who Needs Drugs When You ve Got Pink Floyd?
Review created: 01/03/03
by: ashiri -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
With right setting and right mood, this (live!) C.D. can cause wonderful experiences

Cons:
The voice is often negligible; some long and boring songs

WARNING: this is an extremely long review, as this is an extremely long record. It will probably give you a headache as well. The review, I mean. Not the record. If you live in the United States, as a few people do, you will have no doubt seen President Bush s campaign linking drugs to terrorism on the telly. This seems a rather dubious connection, but then again, I don t have all those wonderful folks at the FDA working at my disposal, so who am I to know? And while I admit that the administration s policies are usually not my rather liberal cup of tea, I will side with him on this. Why tell.

Can't keep my mind from the circling sky

Pros:
Wonderful display of artistic integrity

Cons:
none

After 7 years of silence, Pink Floyd went into an Air Canada hanger in Toronto s Pearson International Airport and practiced under a cloak of secrecy for 4 weeks. They had to do so. Their former band member Roger Waters was filing lawsuits over the use of the name Pink Floyd . But his didn t stop one of the most spectacular tours ever. The album Delicate Sound of Thunder consists of the recording from the tour that followed the group s new album A Momentary Lapse of Reason . This album along with the tour that followed showed that Pink Floyd was music, and not a person (Waters). And did...
