This show is at the top of it all!! It's exactly what is happening to the youth of today and therefore is absolutely relevant to me. I love the drama and all the what if's!!
In my opinion, Season 3 is the first season where you get the feeling that anyone (pre-teens through older teenagers) can watch it. It deals with more issues than any of the previous seasons, and in season three, you feel like you've seen these kids grow up already. They have real issues, real love problems, all the things real high school kids go through. Season three is the most important season in my opinion, and it changes the complexion of Degrassi: TNG for the rest of the season. A MUST HAVE for any Degrassi fan!
This is SUCH a great show- I really feel that the writers have done a good job in addressing teenage issues that have not been throughly discussed at home and or the classroom. The show continues to follow the trials of the characters as they grow older and face challenges.
After discovering some of the earlier episodes during late nights when nothing much is on TV, I grew to like this TV series. I wanted to get the series on DVD. After some confusion, I received the box set of Season 3. I quickly went to my DVD player, and gave them a test run before leaving feedback. I am not sure if the encoding/picture quality is as of low quality as other complete seasons released by the same manufacturer, or not. Since, I only have the one season, and the Jay & Silent Bob crossover DVD. There were frequent times where the screen would be covered with static, or artifacting during scene changes, panning shots, and high "action" scenes. Something I didn't expect to see on the DVD release of the show. Such problems were not so prevelant in the crossover DVD by the same manufacturer. Although, that only has about half the number of episodes on a disc as the complete season discs.
My teenage daughter loves the show Degrassi: Next Generation and has requested it for Christmas. I was unable to find the series for sale anywhere around my home. But, I easily found it on ebay (and at a great price). My daughter will be thrilled Christmas morning.
I got "turned on" to Degrassi by an interview with filmaker, Kevin Smith. I am a BIG fan of Smith's movies and rented Silent "Bob and Jay Do Degrassi." I loved the Degrassi characters which led me back to the original Degrassi Jr. High and Degrassi High. Then after watching all episodes, I saw School's Out and then bought the Next Generation series. I was sad when I had watched season 5 which I got from a friend in Canada and it was over! This is a great series that deals with real teenage topics. I wish I had been able to have a series to watch like this one as I was growing up. I am gay and I always felt "different" and Degrassi deals with the process of coming out. It is a program that should be shown to all high schoolers. It is both educational and entertaining. I highly recommend it to schools and kids who are growing up.
This is a great kick off from the 1980's series of Degrassi. Season three picks up right where season two left off. I grew up with the original series and I think it's great to see those stars as adults now with children. The issues addressed will always be the same however, lifestyles and the new generations will always change. Great job to the writters of Degrassi.
I like this DVD because Degrassi is my favorite t.v show since i can't watch it because I dont have a dish at home to watch that show. DVD has extra features like karaoke, photos and interviews) It also shows the whole episode of Accidents Happens 1 and 2 that the N didn't show in the show.
i LOVE everything about this show... its the best show on tv... i love that it deals with real issues that a lot of teens go through excellent show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
