  Pure mindless fun!

Pros:
Entertaining, scary, funny, makes you jump

Cons:
Unbelievable and a little bit predictable

Deep Blue Sea is like a combination between Jaws and The Abyss, only much bloodier and a lot less believable. I won't start a biology debate here, because this is just a movie and I loved it! It's full of unemotional acting, bad puns, and it's very very fun. Deep Blue Sea is about a team of scientists who have a floating lab out in the ocean. This lab extends 3 levels below the surface and house 3 very large sharks. These sharks have been genetically engineered to have brains 5 times larger than a typical shark. Why? To extract a hormone from their brain that will help to cure Alzheimer's...

Pros:
Samuel L Jackson, LL Cool J, the sharks

Cons:
Saffron Burrows, the plain idioticness of it all.

Jaws, 1975, the original film that made it scary to go in the water and made sharks look like menacing monsters. My birth, 1985 10 years later. I missed Jaws when it first released, on the account of not being born and all. However, it s legacy carried on well into a time where I could ve seen it ie I was old enough that I wouldn t wet myself and stupidly, I still didn t see it. It never even crossed my mind. Then one day in 2001 (or thereabouts), Deep Blue Sea came on TV and I decided to watch it. Can you see the stupidness here? I watched a film that is nothing but an update of Jaws, before.

  Jaws on Steroids

Pros:
has exciting moments

Cons:
seems to much like an updated version of Jaws

Deep Blue Sea is not the most exciting film to watch. It is very predictable, especially for anyone who has seen Jaws. The first time I saw this film was with my husband and a friend of ours. It was their first time seeing it also and they actually predicted just about everything before it happened. I was a bit disappointed and felt they could have done much more than rekindle old scenes from Jaws. Dr. Susan McAlester (played by Saffron Burrows) is a researcher trying to find a cure for Alzheimer's disease. In order to do this they have increased the brain size of three sharks to have enough..

Pros:
I laughed so hard that tears came from my eyes, it's a fun movie to watch, it has Samuel L. Jackson & L.L. Cool J, the ending song by L.L. is a must-hear

Cons:
it wasn't the least bit scary; pretty predictable in a lot of places; the wet suit that they made Samuel L. Jackson wear did him no justice

In the time-honored tradition of man-enhanced animals going on a human killing spree comes Deep Blue Sea. Using a story line vaguely reminiscent of Jaws, Deep Blue Sea is about chemically enhanced sharks with a taste for anything that walks upright on two legs. Instead of a great white, we re presented with nature s latest spree-killers in the form of the Mako shark, which is normally a somewhat docile marine animal except when otherwise provoked. In the case of theses particular sharks (there are three in all), no provocation is necessary for their rebellious nature because they have been...

  Go SHARKS!

Pros:
Almost everyone gets eaten alive.

Cons:
Some of them survive.

Why is it that just because a movie has sharks eating people it has to be considered a rip-off of Jaws? (Is Psycho just like Porky's because they both have great shower scenes?) A movie like Deep Blue Sea seemingly had strikes against it all through its inception, because it has the audacity to feature the same creatures as the Spielberg classic. This movie does not try to be Jaws in any way, and it's an entertaining time because of it. Its sense of humor, for example, is balanced just right. Most of the gags stem from a release of tension, as opposed to other recent "giant animal" horror...
