I love this book. I have grandchildren who won't touch a vegtable. This really works. If you have small children then this is a must have in the kitchen. It works on big children too.
Jessica Seinfeld wife of Jerry the comedian has a great idea here~
Sneak vegetables INTO HEALTHY foods that attract kids~ BRILLIANT~ eat what looks good but it is healthy too~

You can tell she put a lot of time and effort in it~ and a bit of humor tossed in too ~ and a great inspiring way to get the kids to eat better with out knowing it~ LOL
This is a BOOK FOR ANY ONE WHO LIKES TO EAT~and cook~

I decided to purchase this cause I saw it on TV and wasn't aware that such tasty dishes can be made with vegtables. I have tried some of the dishes & they are very good. I highly recommend this cook book for everyone especially parents with picky eaters. you can make all the things they love like brownies/cakes ect but with healthy ingredients & they will never know.
I bought it because I wanted to learn how to get my children to eat more veggies and to begin to become familiar with some veggie flavors that they wouldn't try if served raw or cooked alone. It is a wonderful book and I have to say that multiple recipes I have found to be extremely delicious and it has all of us eating even more veggies...parents included! I had trouble with one recipe, but I could have done something wrong - I'll try it again. Geat Book!!
This is the first cookbook I've actually cooked multiple things out of! I think I've made about 35% of the recipes in the book and I've only had it a few weeks. I love the pictures, the easy read, the fact that it stays open while laying on my kitchen counter, the simple directions - I love this book! My whole family has really enjoyed the recipes that we've made from them and I love that we're getting a little extra nutrition at mealtime.
I really loved the ideas of when and how to add veggies to common foods the kids eat all the time. And there are a TON of recipes, much more than the Sneaky Chef, and many different types of recipes too... however... many of the recipes require a lot of ingredients. I made one recipe and it seemed to take awhile, even though I pureed the veggies ahead of time. I did make the quesadillas though and they turned out AWESOME and my kids loved them. It's just that when I see a recipe with 20 ingredients, some of which I've never even purchased before (like flaxseed meal) it's a bit daunting. I'd definitely buy again, and will continue to try the recipes. Great for getting out of a cooking rut!
I am glad that this was online because I have an 18 month old and I want to make sure that he gets all his fruits and veggies. I also am trying to get my husband to eat more veggies and this would be a great way to get him to eat more of them and he won't even know that some of it is in his favorite cookie or brownie.
After trying the recipes, I am not that interested in trying anymore. The food tasted very bland. Decided to buy, because I feel we can all use extra vegetables in our diet. The cookbook takes a lot of time to prepare the vegetables and then you have to buy a lot of vegetables in advance, so all together, I am spending a lot more time on food preperation. I could have just served my family regular vegetables.
I've got 2 little one that refuse to eat veggies. Wanted to give it a try. I really like it, and since reading the book have come up withsome ideas of my own. am so glad I bought it.
I borrowed this book from a friend of mine and liked it so much that I had to buy my own. It has very good information about nutrition that your kids should be getting in their daily diet. I have 2 extremely picky eaters, and this book is helping me get veggies into their diet! yay!
Easy to follow and great ideas for how to incorporate more veggies. My entire family is loving all the food and it's really not to time consuming or difficult at all. Thanks
I like the book it is a great way to add fruits and vegetables to your families meals. Especially if you have picky eaters like I do. Both my husband and son eat little to not vegetables so any way that I can add a few in is great. This book gives some great recipes to try at any meal.
This incredible recipe book tells how to get children to "eat their vegetables." By secretly putting vegetables in foods kids like -- including chocolate chip cookies -- they eat them unknowingly and love it! The recipes are good, and the stories are cute. It's an excellent book for any growing family!
Even though my children are grown, I like to eat healthy. I was real curious about this recipe book, so decided to give it a try. The recipes that I have tried are really good- even my husband likes them! I give this a thumbs up!
I think this cookbook is really cool b/c it allows the user to slip vegetables/fruits into every food without your children knowing. Being the mom of a very picky 2-year-old, this is a lifesaver! It's easy and quick and written very clever!
I bought this cookbook for some more interesting ways to get my kids to eat their vegetables. I love that even though I know what is in my recipes, they don't, well not yet!! There really is nothing I dislike about this cookbook. It is put together well enough for anyone to cook in this unique way.
Love it! I did this 35 yrs ago w/my kids & it still works. The family joke is, "What'd you hide in this, Mom?" Well written w/lots of good recipes. Everything we've tried is delicious.
how you can hide veggies in stuff and then make more healthier meals. i dislike how long it takes or to make the veggies without the kids knowing what your doing.i decided to buy this book because evryone talked this book up and how awesome it was. it is good and it is a good idea but for a stay at home mom and not a wworking mom.
Great layout with Yummy recipes that the whole family will benefit from. It is well organized and easy to use.... Can't wait to really "dig" in! Fantastic ideas for picky eaters.
I bought this book "Deceptively Delicious by Jessica Seinfeld (2007)" as a gift for my daughter. She has tried several recipes and has been very happy with the results. She would recommend this book.
I like the way this cookbook approaches getting healthy ingredients(squash, carrot and cauliflower puree) into our cooking. These are foods that are often neglected in today's menus.
