Death Becomes Her (1998, DVD)

Ok, to be fair Men can be vain too..bad toupees, constantly stopping to look at their reflections in the mirror or any mirrored surface..checking out their muscles both real and imaginary! This movie is about two Women Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep..one an Actress one a frump engaged to a famous plastic surgeon..of course the famous Actrees steals the famous surgeon played brilliantly by Bruce Willis..Meryl Streeps character is hell bent on not growing old or at the very least not showing her age so she seeks out any type of treatment to slow down the aging process..she's secretly given the name and address of Lisa(Leesa) played by the beautiful Isebella Rossalini..she gives well sells Meryl Streeps character a secret potion (which we later learn is also taken by Andy Warhol, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Pressley just to name a few) she takes this potion and it halts the aging process even reverses it, but at a cost..later we discover Goldie has also taken the potion..what follows is hilarious, lovers of brilliant comedies will treasure this movie..not just for the silly, belly aching, side splitting, eyes watering antics, but also for the special effects..if you haven't watched this film yet what are you waiting for an invitation? ok I formally invite you to hold your belly and laugh yourself sick..ok now go out and find this movie..go on shoo!!

This movie is so funny! Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn are hysterical in this movie. No matter how old this movie is it doesnt go out of style and makes me laugh every time I see it!

This movie is hilarious.One of the best from Bruce Willis,Meryl Streep,and Goldie Hawn.Barrels of laughs from start to finish.I bought the movie because it is a crazy one full of laughs.

I wanted this DVD and knowing it was an older one, I decided to try Ebay because here you can find almost anything. I was thrilled to find "Death Becomes Her" because it is a funny movie with classic actors. I was just wanting to watch it again. I received the movie before my payment cleared my bank, I was amazed! I really love buying items on Ebay!

This was my childhood favorite film. When i was 13 my mom recorded it off of the Sci-fi channel and i lost the tape. I didn't occur to me to look on ebay. I did and i didn't want to pay too much, but i would have gone to sun coast and probably paid $10.00 for it, but I was getting a better bargain here. I was very excited to receive this movie. I watched it that very night.

I had seen the movie, enjoyed it-special effects which were great and wanted my grandson to see the special effects in which I was refering.Robert Zemeckis is just great with his effect.

this is one of best movies i have watched in years i had loved it since it first came out many years agao and i love it just as much today as i did back then, there is nothing i can say that would be anything less then this is a gem of a movie, a classic.

I purchased this movie on DVD off of Ebay. I used to have it on VHS and just had trouble finding it in the stores. This movie is very original and has a great cast and screen play. It is very funny. I have seen this several times and still laugh! I am one of those people that just don't laugh at everything, it really has to be funny! Each time I watch it I find something new to laugh at that I did not realize before. It is one of those movies that I will always have in my collection.

I CANNOT COMPLAIN ABOUT ANY OF IT. I WOULD BUY FROM THE SELLER AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT. AND I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS MOVIE TO EVERYONE OF BOTH SEX'S IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A LAUGH.

I never received the movie or a refund. So, I cant give a review. I do like this movie, if I have received it, but I would not buy another movie from this buyer. I like the actor, and the suspense in the movie, and that is why I decided to buy the movie. Sometime you just can not trust anyone.

This is one dark comedy that never quite received the recognition it deserves.

Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn do a wonderful job of portraying greedy, vain, and vicious women who will stop at nothing to retain their youth and beauty. Their performances are absolutely side-splitting.

It is not Bruce Willis' best movie, but it does show a departure from the usual shoot-'em-ups he is so well known for. He *does* manage to carry off portraying a milquetoast plastic surgeon. However, the movie is not about him; he is just a bone that the two rabid women are snarling so comically over.

The story line is very well done. We see the beginnings of a competition between two women that evolves into a boisterous madness. The interaction is simple, and yet carries an undercurrent of complexity that makes it absolutely delightful.

The special effects used to show the competing shrews conditions are well done and priceless. You may never look at a can of spray paint the same way again!

It is inventive and fiendish. If it doesn't make one laugh, then one is probably... dead.
