Please note that my reviews are made based on the DVD product. At the time of writing, the seller is completely unknown. This dual film is offered on a North American DVD format and was issued in 2004. - "Day After Tomorrow": Basically the extreme posibility of global warming is selected to create an almost instant ice-age. The ice advances so quick that life is caught in mid-step and it's up to a small group of kid to survive in it's path. It's really not funny but it is interesting. The special effects are excellent. Highly recommended. As with all films, parents of school age children should probably watch it first to verify it's OK. - "Independence Day": This sci-fi flick is funny, thought provoking, patriotic, exciting and almost everything else you can think of. It's about the earth being invaded by aliens in flying saucers but with many new twists. And - of course I totally believe a USMC Captain (Will Smith) instinctly knows how to fly a flying saucer! OK, not really but it did make the movie funny at the height of the drama. The movie was like that: the absurd being mixed with deadly serious and a touch of comedy. That's probably one of the reasons such a vast audience loved this film (including me). Highly recommended. As with all films, parents of school age children should probably watch it first to verify it's OK.
