Nasty and Profane

I didn't like this book. It is nasty, peopled with horrible, profane characters and events. It‘s so gory that it's almost a parody of the serial killer genre. It’s as if the author said to himself, “Let’s take something nasty from column A, then something from Columns B and C and think of a way to have the character do that.” The only sympathetic individual in the book is the autistic young man Darcy. Even the heroine is unpalatable. I found it hard to believe that the author of the excellent Ben Kincaid series could have written this book. Sorry, but it’s not recommended.
