The Kaplan book give the basic outline of subject and provide information they think will show up on the test. There are several mistype and wrong information/incomplete/confusing information. The scattered general information provided is helpful to get going, but will need to be supplemented with your original textbook or other review books (like schaum's). Also be aware that Kaplan is not inclusive and does not cover several Biology topic that is covered on the DAT. I suggest looking at example DAT test to see what may be covered and study that subject. I know for sure DAT cover plant biology which is not covered in the Kaplan book.
Looking at the book as a review material? It does it's job and give you a review, but you need to take it into your own hand to get the details and fill in the blanks. Don't rely solely on Kaplan.
