D-link AirPlus Xtreme G DI-624 Wireless Router (DI624RE)

Good Feature Rich Router that is durable.

I bought this in 02/2004 when my Linksys Router went Kaput.
Setup was a breeze. Plugged my cable modem (comcast internet service) in and my PC, logged in to the admin URL and ran the setup wizard and I was ready to go. I have 4 machines connected to it (3 wired, 1 wireless).
Speed: Of course right of the bat the Wireless G speed is a big improvement over a/b and the burst rate of 108Mbps was not attainable by me but I did go higher than 54Mbps many times.
Range: The range of this router covers most of my 3400 sq ft house so no complaints here. I can even sit on my back patio and get access when the router is in the front of my house (in my office)
Features: I like the fact I can leverage static DHCP where I can assign an IP address to the same LAN card (MAC address) each time a request for an ip address is made. This makes it easy to leverage some of the features such as redirecting ports. For example I redirect port 22 requests to my linux box so I can log onto it from anywhere as long as I know my comcast IP address. Similarly you can have a test web server setup and redirect port 80 that way.
You can play with DMZ and a whole slew of other features but I have never really had a need for them. I have changed (for performance reasons) the router to perform in G only mode (mixed mode - supporting wireless B cards impacts performance)
The biggest win is reliability - 3 yrs and still running whereas my linksys only lasted a shade over 2 yrs.

I have had this router for almost 2 months and the unit works quite well. The administration features and remote access are nice. I have used this for 3 computers in my house, one laptop, one PC hardwired, and my Cingular 8125 phone using wifi. They all work perfectly. I rated it Good rather then Excellent since I have only used some of its functions, if I play with it more I might give it a 5 so long as everything works out. I have not attempted to VPN into my home PC yet, that will be the ultimate test.
The unit is quite easy to configure and the reset button comes in handy when you lock yourself out on accident. The only thing I have noticed that seems buggy is the SSID, for some reason when I select do not broadcast it ignores my change even after I save the settings and it reboots... so my SSID is always visible.
I use the MAC address filtering to keep others off my network and it has been fine. The radio strength covers my whole house (which is small).
There is another feature that I don't have which is the extended range as well as the Super G. Neither of these I have used since I have good range already and I don't use a D-Link reciever for my laptop (it is Dell's built in one).
I like it overall and am happy with my purchase.
