Cuisinart DGB-600 10-Cup Coffee Maker

If you like to wake up in the morning and have freshly brewed coffee made with freshly ground beans all ready and waiting for you then this could be the machine for you!
This Cuisinart Coffee maker has a built in grinder....simply pop in the beans the night before, set the timer and you will wake up with a pot of steaming hot coffee....and it stays hot because another wonderful feature of this machine is the thermal carafe which keeps coffee warm well into the day!
It has a program that lets you determine how much coffee you want, and a built in charcoal filter so even if the water you start with isn't the greatest thing that should be coming out of the tap, it removes impurities such as chlorine which could affect the quality of your coffee.
The very feature that keeps your coffee so hot - the thermal carafe...does present problems in knowing exactly how much coffee you have left. It is not a problem for us as we fill it with enough to fill our travel mugs and do not care how much is left but if you had guests it may be tough to know how much is in the pot!
The grinder can be removed to clean....and PLEASE CLEAN THE GRINDER....if you do not remove all the internal parts on a regular basis this machine will clog and it breaks down very quickly thereafter...we had that happen, but liked it enough to purchase another one, but I do not think this will stand up to daily use long term as some of the internal parts are rather flimsy.
For the price however, the coffee and convenience of having it ready each morning, cannot be matched!

I love coffee. I got the Cuisinart Coffee MAker as a gift and didn't like it right from my very first cup! Horrible tasting coffee! I've tried Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, other brands, vanilla, regular, decaf, etc.. nothing really tasted good enough.... I also tried to put boiling hot water, nothing changed. Nice design. That is about it.I don't mind cleaning the parts as long as i really enjoy it.
Would NOT recommend.

Very good unit! The coffee is excellent! The coffee maker is a pain to clean! Because it grinds the beans it gets oily and it needs thoruough cleaning daily. But the coffee is so good that the cleaning is worth it!

I had seen the Cuisinart coffee pot advertised in a sales catalog and thought I would try and find one on E-Bay. As luck would have it I did. I love my Cuisinart and would recommend it to anyone. If you love fresh brewed coffee this is the maker for you. If you love to grind your own for fresh brewed coffee this is the one for you. Don't just take my word for it, buy one. I guarantee you will love everything about it.

I love this coffee pot, because I don't have to get a grinder out and grind my beans before I make my coffee it does it all for me.

Easy to use and keep clean. Keeps brewed coffee hot for hours without heating it which ruins the taste.

i previously wrote this review soon after getting this coffeemaker and have changed my mind now that i have had it awhile.about 2 mos. after water is leaking out the bottom and the co. is NOT helpful in any way-actually quite rude !i have also now read many reviews on various sites and this happens ALOT!!follows is my original review--------- i had no idea that the grinding feature would make such a difference, it is just as good than going out to a specialty coffee house,but i don't have to leave the house-highly recommend. the stainless carafe keeps the coffee fresh and hot for hours.

We bought this coffee maker as a gift because we had one and enjoyed it. This is the best cup of coffee I have had with a home coffee maker. I would recommend this to anyone interested in an above average cup of coffee.

We are happy with this coffee pot, but let me tell you, you better get it together right or you will have a mess. They claim it will not turn on if not put together right, but I have found out different a couple of times, now I always check it twice. It does make good coffee and worth the effort, at least most of the time. It does require extra steps if you use whole beans in it.

This coffee maker is a working womans dream. The starting of the grind wakes me up and I know I will have fresh coffee in minutes! It is just great.

After 18 months the grinding mechanism sticks to the base unit and you need a screw driver to pry it off. I have tried everything (lubricants/cleaning) and have had no luck. It sticks every time.

For a $100+ machine it should last longer than a year and a half.

After having had other grind and brew models from the same company, I thought this would be great with the stainless exterior. What a piece of crap. It makes cold weak coffee. Save your money and get a grinder and a french press. This thing makes very weak and cold coffee. Cuisinart even admits it- they say to rinse the carafe with hot water before use. I even did that and it still makes cold coffee. I will be calling their customer support soon as the reopen from the holiday. Junk.

We replaced a 5-year old Cuisinart with this refurbished model (the heating element had weakened, and thus the coffee was also weak), and are very pleased. This coffee maker makes the best coffee imaginable and works like a charm after 1.5 months since purchase. Highly recommended!

I replaced my previous cuisinart grind and brew with the stainless steel as for re-doing my kitchen. I love the taste of freshly brewed coffee from fresh ground beans as for it gives FULL flavor, but I've never liked the clean up. You've got to remove the grinder and your have to wash the unit as for steam gets trapped in the grinder and makes it a wet mess. My previous black unit kept the coffee warm for hours and never had a burnt taste, but the stainless steel does not have a warmer plate, and unless you drink the pot fast, it gets cold fast. They recommend pre heating the carafe with hot water, well so much for setting it to have hot fresh coffee in the morning. And you MUST rinse out the lid to the carafe daily or it will malfunction. Don't judge this unit by the looks as for I think you'll be disapointed with the total outcome.

I have a question about the cleaning. What do you run through the pot to get rid of the bitter taste of coffee? I have this coffee pot for 4 years, and it was great tasting coffee in the beginning, but I think I need to change the gold basket, oe something else. I change the filter often, but I am still having a bitter tasting problem...Help~

Great coffee maker and we love the self grinding feature. We only use whole bean and prep the machine the night before. The timer is easy to use and the carafe keeps the coffee hot for hours.

Had one for a few years and the motor burned up. Bought a GE but they are junk. Got another on ebay. Now I am back in the goove...... Who needs Star Bks?

I bought this coffee maker about a month ago and have been very pleased with my purchase. It came well packed and complete with everything mentioned in the listing, including the owner's manual.
My wife and I love a freshly brewed cup of coffee, but did not want to pay an exhorbitant price for that luxury. The features on this item are many, allowing for timed brewing, optional use of regular ground coffee, etc.
I would highly recommend this coffee maker over any I have seen.

We have had the Cuisinart coffee maker in our home for more than 5 years and use it at least once if not twice every day. No parts have ever worn out and we prefer our home brewed coffee to all others. The metal carafe keeps the coffee warm for hours, even if you do not pre-heat it with hot water. Like most all the other reviews state, this machine requires cleaning after each use because of the built-in grinder. Plan to change the water filter about every 6 months, max.

Recently we were having a problem with the coffee dripping on the counter, rather than into the carafe. It turned out that the top of the carafe needed to be cleaned more thoroughly. We find that the grinder cup cannot be removed easily for cleaning unless you wait for a while until the condensation evaporates a bit. The access door to the filter basket gets a bit sticky with age, due to all the coffee residue that builds up inside the compartment. Again, regular cleaning after each use seems to be essential.

It makes quite a bit of noise when grinding the beans but the aroma of fresh ground beans and the flavour are a great trade off. Besides timer programming, you can set it up for either pre-ground or ground coffee. You can make just a few cups (special button setting) or a full 10 cups and yet get the same richness.

This coffee maker is highly recommended for coffee lovers and it makes a unique gift, too.

This is my second Cuisinart - same model. I had the first one for several years before the grinder stuck in place and the pot leaked. No other coffee maker has ever made better coffee at home so easily. It tastes like coffee shop coffee, provided you get high quality bean to start. I keep my unused beans in the freezer so they stay frest, and I buy them in small quantities. Yes, the parts need to be cleaned, but so what. It's worth it to get a great cup of coffee. If you're buying one for yourself, check out the factory refurbished items. You'll pay about half price! That's what I bought the second time around, and I've had no problems. It came in a factory sealed box and was only missing the gold filter, which I already had from my previous coffeemaker. Everything else was in tact and in new condition.

We bought this coffee maker, thinking that it would keep out morning coffee hot longer...wrong!! It doesn't have a heating plate under the carafe, and, consequently, unless you pre-heat the carafe, the coffee actually gets cooler faster than with the uninsulated carafe. At least that one kept warm for two hours because of the heater plate. And we thought we were getting a better product!! Very diappointing!! We called Cuisinart, and they said that we had to pre-heat the carafe to maintain the temperature. That doesn't really work with the automatic function! It has the convenience of being able to pre-set the time when the coffee maker turns on, but not being able to keep the coffee hot.
