I have an IPod (of course) but I did not want the bulk of that at the gym so I looked for another mp3 player that had fm support. I ran accross this on eBay and bought it (512MB version). It is a great little player.
Connection: No drivers needed - plug it into the usb port and it is recognized as a usb mass storage device.
File Transfer: Drag and drop Songs and thats it!
Playlists: None but you do you really need them at the gym?? You may want to rename songs (sequentially) if you want them played in a certain order. Small nuance but thats fine by me.
Battery - uses a simple AAA battery - easy to find and no battery to charge.
headphones - stink get nicer ones (I got ones for the gym)
FM tuner - works and works beautifully - need I say more?
Size: Small enough for the gym - its perfect.
Playback - its good enough for me. No complaints or issues.
Other features: Has voice recorder, equalizer, etc - never used any of those features.
Note: I did run into an issue where it would stop/skip songs and I would have to take the battery out for it to continue but I found a firmware update and that fixed the problem.
Buy with confidence!

Great price, easy to use, sound quality is great, lots of space, battery lasts for ever, and fm receiver works well. I've gone through alot of mp3 players that costs about this much (I've been unwilling to pay more) and got bad sound, difficult to use and breaks quickly. My Zen was so great and still working so I got this one for my son off ebay. I put every song I had on it and still have tons of room. Some people have HUGE libraries of music and need more- I do not. For the price you just can't beat it.
PROS: Lightweight (size of a pack of gum), easy to use & load music (just drag & drop!), holds lot of songs, battery last a long time, very durable and NEVER had a song skip once, easy read display lights up also tells you how much battery life is left.
CONS: USB rubber cover does not shut properly (never did since the day I bought it new) doesn't affect player any. Doesn't have alot of bells & whistles (but if your MP3 player challenged that can be a PRO! lol)
I recently purchased a Creative Labs MP3 player for my son. As he is a boy and young I didn't want to invest a lot of money in a unit. This unit holds a lot of songs an is extremly easy to operate. He is able to load his songs on it himself. It is a durable unit as it has gone through the wash - yes it went through the wash and still works!!!! I wouldn't recommend putting it through the wash to test it, but it did still work when I found it in a load of jeans. He takes it everywhere in his pocket. The battery life is long as well one AAA last about 10 hours. The unit itself doesn't look like much. There was a flimsy tab that held the battery cover on - that is taped shut now. The rubber cover where the USB cord goes doesn't fit flat either. Other then that I'm very satisfied with this unit and will probably purchase another for my daughter. for the money it's a good purchase.
Good for playing MP3's. It's small and light and is easy to use. Good battery life also compared to others I have tried. The layout is simple and the software is also easy to use. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants a smiple MP3 player w/o all the other features. This works great!
