This is a cd that I bought at a store when it first came out.I had to get a new one because I think I honestly wore this one out.

I love Mirandas style of country music,Sassy and fun,she can really hit home with some of the lyrics...makes you think.and her voice is awesome, pure young country!
I saw her in concert 2 years ago at the Big E and she put on one heck of a show.
I'll probably wear this cd out too!

I am in love with this CD.As a former battered woman who no longer takes any form of abuse from anyone, the song Gunpowder and Lead described me to a T.I hadnt heard any of the other songs. Now that I have I am even happier with purchase. The lady can belt one out.Sometimes a song just seems to talk to you or was written for you, well several seem that way for me.If your a woman who has had a rough road to hoe you will really appreciate the lyrics. She is countrys bad ass.

Miranda Lambert is an under-rated artist. Good CD! "Dry Town" sounds like good Old Country. "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" and "Gunpowder & Lead" good revenge songs!

Miranda Lambert has certainly proven herself once again with "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend." This followup to the successful "Kerosene" has much of the same sound we've come to love from this amazing artist!!

As a whole the album is well written and has the same variety of fun songs and slower songs that were heard on Kerosene. My favorite thing about this album (besides that beautiful voice) is the Texas "twang" that is encompassed throughout the album. This is largely due to the instruments used. The instruments blend quite nicely with Miranda's voice. There's just something about a steel guitar that sounds so good with Miranda's voice and gives that "twang" that I mentioned.

Enough about that. The songs are what make the album. If the songs aren't good, I think it'd be hard to have a successful album. This cd has several songs worth listening to besides the recent single "Famous In a Small Town." I believe Miranda sang the title track "Crazy Ex Girlfriend" on an awards show a while back, but for some reason the song isn't one of my favorites. Maybe it's because I'm a guy...who knows! There is another song that reminds me of the title track, but this one I really like; this is "Gunpowder and Lead." It has the same kind of message that "Crazy Ex Girlfriend" does, but it's a better song, in my opinion. "Gunpowder and Lead" shows off Mirand's tough, rockous side that many of us have come to appreciate and love about her. The second track on the album "Dry Town" has a different sound that reminds me of some of the honky tonk songs from the 50's. In this track, Miranda sings about needing a little alcohol, but finds that she's in a dry town (hence the name). Miranda's luck doesn't get any better, her car is broken down and the mechanic has gone fishin'. Non supporters of country music would laugh at this track because it seems to prove the opinion that all country songs are about one's truck breaking down, dog running away, etc. Obviously not all country songs are like that!!! This song just gives support of that opinion.

There are also some slower songs that show Miranda's softer side. "Love Letters" "Desperation" and "Easy From Now On" all show this softer, more gentle, voulnerable side of Miranda that has made her the artist that she is. There's nothing like a well-written song with a beautiful voice to show the true emotion of the song and Miranda is very good at doing this.

The reason I gave this cd 4 stars rather than 5 is for the same reason I give some other albums only 4 stars...the length. Although there are 11 tracks, the album falls a couple minutes shy of just 40 minutes, which is somewhat of a dissappointment to me. That said, the majority of the 11 tracks presented on this album are quality songs that will carry the album, however I feel that more would be better. If there were more tracks of the same quality on the album, I would have no problem giving it 5 stars, although I feel there are some weak spots on the album. If you enjoyed her previous work, you will have no regrets with this album, it provides lots of fun songs that will get you singing right along. ****

This girl is going to be around country music for a very long time. Outstading vocals and the song writing on this album is better that the first album. She is superstar in the making.

It is refreshing to have an awesome song writer on the country scene. The CD is real to life and folks just wish they could do what she writes about, especially Kerosene and Crazy Ex. She will continue to climb on the charts and in the hearts of true country fans. I enjoyed every song, especially Small Town and Love Letters.

Miranda Lambert promises to be the next Dolly Parton. Not that Dolly Parton could ever be replaced, but the country music world is in need of a new, feisty blond who can write and sing songs that no one else wants to. Miranda Lambert, with her blunt honesty and pure talent, is capable of doing so, and doing it better than any of her peers.

CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND is appropriately named; several of these tunes sizzle with bottled up hatred, from the opener "Gunpowder & Lead" ("his fist is big but my gun's bigger/he'll find out when I pull the trigger"), to the title track, even to the whistful "More Like Her" ("You don't look much like a man from where I'm at," she sings mournfully). Other tunes are simply insights into darker lifestyles; "Down" and "Desperation" will depress the hell out of you, while "Guilty In Here" tackles a woman who uses the men in her life, and can't stop ("Is it guilty in here, or is it just me?"). Other songs are a bit more light-hearted, including Gillian Welch's whimsical "Dry Town" and Lambert's superb "Famous in a Small Town."

This album stands as one of the best yet this year. Miranda Lambert is one of the best songwriters on the scene. She wrote or co-wrote all but three of these tracks, and those she didn't write ("Dry Town" by Welch, "Getting Ready" by Patti Griffin, and "Easy From Now On" by Carlene Carter) fit right into the flow of the album. Her voice can be sharp as a razor or smooth as butter; her delivery is always top-notch. All of these songs shine with personality and grit; it takes pure talent to deliver every one of these songs, and Miranda Lambert is the best woman for the job.
