Boyz II Men: Cooleyhighharmony On The Hip Hop Doo Wop Tip

Pros: The voices and Dallas Austin's fun production
Cons: Two songs I can call filler
Before they became too old to be cool with young audiences, Boyz II Men was the hottest group in the land. Wanya, Nate, Shawn, and Mike (ok, maybe not Mike) could sing rings around nearly anyone in the industry and thanks to Michael Bivins of Bell Biv Devoe and New Edition fame and producer Dallas Austin, they had a creative, yet nerdy style that put them on the map. As the story goes, the four men found themselves backstage at a New Edition concert and sang Can You Stand The Rain for Bivins a capella style. He loved them and signed them up and even named them after one of New Edition's songs.

Pros: these guys can sing! none of the songs suck
Cons: 5 of the songs are on there twice but just in different remixes
Boyz II Men had just come out and I knew I was in love with their sweet harmonizing voices. This album doesn't disappoint. As would show in their ensuing albums, these guys have amazing voices that just doesn't get old. Just an interesting note: the album cover shown here is different from the one I bought (look on CDNow.com for the different cover). I believe one might even contain more music than the other. I have no idea why there is this discrepancy when both albums are titled "Cooleyhighharmony". The only thing that makes this album seem like a bit of a rip off is that they have 5 songs..
