My daughter loves this game. It is a rare treat that does not involve shooting or destruction. You can even personalize mama's clothes and the kitchen decor. And better yet, you can cook with friends.
I'd heard a lot about the Cooking Mama games from friends and reviews, so when I finally picked up a DS, this was one of the first games I bought. I'm a big fan of any game that makes heavy use of the stylus, and Cooking Mama 2 is played entirely with the touchscreen. In the game, you follow directions to prepare foods in two different modes - cook with mama and let's cook. In the first mode, cook with mama, you learn all of the different methods of preparing the foods and in let's cook, you're sort of tested on it.
Throughout the game, you get to unlock a lot of neat little extras. They're mostly to decorate pictures you can take of your finished recipes, but a few are to dress up mama and customize the top screen and the items you use during gameplay.
The only thing I was less than happy with in Cooking Mama 2 is the 2-player mode, but even if I'd known what it was like before buying the game, I still would have spent the money. In 2-player mode, you only get to do single item challenges - for example, peeling apples or forming meat into a patty.
I'd recommend this game to anyone with a DS. Some of the challenges/recipes get pretty hard, but there's plenty of easier ones that anyone could enjoy.
i bought this for my daughter after she played it at a friends house. we both got into it, lots of actual steps to real cooking with out the actual mess :) she has both cooking mama and cooking mama 2. she plays both and loves them. there is enough to keep her busy. both my girls get into cooking competitions to see who can get the highest coin. its a must for any age.
I decided to buy this game because my daughter wanted it. She absolutely loves it and I have played it and love it also. I have bribed her to let me play it a few times. I recommend it to everyone. It's even better than Cooking Mama 1.
Cooking mama 2 is such a fun game. We have only had it for 2 days, but we have already tried to "cook" many of the food items. Sometimes the directions are a little vague, but other than that we have really enjoyed it. Anyone who likes to cook (or wishes they knew how) will enjoy this game. Along with step by step cooking with "mama", you can also compete solo or against friends doing certain steps in the cooking process. Also it is really funny that when you mess up a step mama's eyes turn to fire. HA!
My daughter had played this at a friend's house and liked it. I bought it for her for Easter and neither one of us can put it down! It's a great game for all ages!
My 11 year old daughter loves this game. It is a perfect game for girls. It has alot of cooking challenges and is easy to navigate. My daughter has barely put it down since she got it.
Okay so this is TOTALLY a KIDS game but its kind of fun too.. in its slightly odd.. navel gazing approach to things. Hear me out though I'm making this review as a somewhat informed adult video game player. There is plenty of things in this game that a player can unlock and explore. While it won't teach anyone about how to REALLY cook much real food players still (..especially the young ones) will learn some basics about how things WORK that may actually help them out when they go to try some new things in the kitchen. As an adult I give this game a 4 out of 5 but I'd bet you that any young kid would be pretty likely to say this game is a solid five out of five because its pretty fun and the game does teach a few things about what goes into the actual cooking process.
Well this game is very fun to play and its very cute.
Once you start playing this, you just cant stop. You have to keep on playing to find out the new receipes and then you keep going and going. Its a very fun family type of game. All ages can play.
You will not be disappointed in this game because its just non stop stylus action. CLICK HERE DRAG HERE POINT HERE! hehe
Fun to play. Easy to learn, and interesting recipes to master. Graphics and sounds are excellent. Good clean fun. A must have for the Nintendo DS gaming system.
