Conspiracy in Death by Nora Roberts
Review created: 02/23/08

If you are a fan of the series, you will enjoy Conspiracy in Death. In this chapter of Eve's life, she comes directly up against her worst fear, losing her badge. The description of her internal conflict and the pain this causes those around her makes the reader almost "feel" what she is feeling. It's a good read. And it is completely faithful to the Eve character the author has created in this series.

I bought this book by Nora Roberts "Conspiracy in Death" for my sister who lives out of state. She had been looking for this copy to add to her collection. I got a terrific price for it and sent it to her. She was so pleased with the condition of the book. No dislikes with this book. I'm not an advid Nora Roberts fan, but my sister says she's one of the most talented authors there is.

Conspiracy in Death - Eve's Career Was in Danger
Review created: 10/14/06
by: dragonfire88 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Likable returning characters in an entertaining plot.

Cons:
Some characters not used enough.

I ve discovered over the years that if I pick up a book that is part of a series and like it, I then feel compelled to read the rest of the books in the series. After loving Naked in Death, I went on to pick up the rest of the books in the In Death series that were available at that time. I ve been reading the books in the series again and recently finished reading Conspiracy in Death, the eighth book in the series, again. The In Death series has more than twenty books in it as well as three short stories. Two new books are released in the series each year. Each book has had its own plot...

Conspiracy in Death - The Hands of Gods Can Save or Kill
Review created: 08/16/01
by: KCFemme -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Good story, consistency of the characters, developing relationship of Ian & Delia

Cons:
A little tedious compared to her other In Death books.

Conspiracy in Death is the eighth book in J.D. Robb's "In Death" series which revolves around Lieutenant Eve Dallas, a 2059 New York Police and Securities Detective that deals in homicide. Each of the books in the series have had their plus and minus list (mainly plusses though), but this one seemed to be a little more tedious than the others. Sure it has some fun to read parts, but most of it seems almost "political" at times. For me that is a little harder to read. On the other hand, she does manage to throw some rather unique twists into this one with a commrade that has grown to hate her..

  Eve Dallas Stripped
Review created: 09/06/01
by: jsmorris -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Subplot is excellent

Cons:
Main plot is a tiny bit weak

I was wrong. Ok, I've admitted it. I always thought science fiction or futuristic type novels weren't my cup of tea. While reading Conspiracy in Death I realized I couldn't have been more wrong - I love this futuristic series! A homeless man is murdered and the case is assigned to Eve Dallas, since it's not a random act of violence. This man, Snooks, died when his heart was surgically removed by what appeared to be a very skilled surgeon. When Dallas digs a bit further, she discovers that this crime is connected to another committed in New York City where an aged LC (licensed companion) died..

Everyone Has Someone To Care About Them.
Review created: 12/30/06
by: Harucki87 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
good pace to the story. believable characters. suspense with a few twists and turns.

Cons:
no cons to report

More often than not, any good murder mystery has a subplot and quite a few twists and turns - enough to keep the story interesting and moving at a normal pace without confusing the reader. This is the case with J.D. Robb s eighth book in the In Death Series, CONSPIRACY IN DEATH. As with her other books, we begin with Lieutenant Eve Dallas being called to investigate a murder. She finds that this isn t just any murder. Although the murder of a street person wouldn t be enough to cause a huge commotion, it s the style of murder that has everyone scratching their heads in dismay. The man s heart.

  Eve Dallas, facing greater challenges...
Review created: 01/06/00
by: pmf22175 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Great evolution of characters. Marvelous plot line.

Cons:
Tasteful, yet graphic depictions of sex and murder.

Nora Roberts, writing as J.D. Robb, once more turns her attentions from love to death in the eighth book of the Eve Dallas series. Loved by millions of readers for her rich characterization and her ability to weave true emotion into her storytelling, she adds aspects of science-fiction, mystery, and suspense to romance, and gets a surprisingly well-blended style of writing, unique even from her other works. Lieutenant Eve Dallas, of the New York Police and Security Department, has faced serial killers before. Yet now, she must match wits against an entire conspiracy of murder. A conspiracy...
