Be sure to check expiration dates prior to bidding. HP printers will not work with an ink cartridge more than 18 months past the expiration date. I've had good luck buying them on Ebay as long as they are genuine HP cartridges and not expired.

If your printer requires this cartridge, then you are going to buy it! But beware of "use by" date when buying by auction. Explanation: This cartridge has a chip in it that causes the cartridge to "expire" 18 months after that date. After that, the printer will NOT work until you replace it with a non-expired cartridge. This is in fact disclosed in the fine print on every HP 14 box. HP says this is to protect the printer from old ink. Maybe so. But many sellers list these cartridges as "brand new" if they have not been opened, regardless of the date on the box. So, unless you have a proven method of bypassing this lockout feature on your printer, do NOT buy an HP 14 that is over 18 months past the use-by date.

I buy all my HP cartridges from ebay merchants, and have had the best results. this cartridge is in my printer right now and works perfectly. all the cartridges that I have purchased on ebay have been original HP brand and a great value. I have no negative comments for this product.
