Great Cheap DVD Player

There's not much to this review because the DVD player is quite simple, though perfectly effective.
This was $50 well spent. The DVD player hooked up to my surround sound without a problem. I cannot tell a difference in performance (both audio and video) between this $50 player and the $250 Panasonic in my living room.
There aren't as many options as a more expensive brands may have, but there's nothing that I've missed - I just noticed that watching DVD's on this thing isn't complicated. You can play, pause, eject, fast forward and rewind just like any other DVD player. At the price, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one if I just had another tv.
One final word. The cheap price is in the simplicity of the player, not in the quality. It has given me no trouble and thus far has been as sturdy as any other DVD player that I've used.
Update: It lasted just over a year before it died. It wasn't abused, it just seems to be dead.

DVD player works greatIt's very compact. It was very inexpensive. It was purchased because my APEX DVD player failed in 2 years with VERY limited use. So if this one lasts 2 years I'm happy.

They're ability to get the player out quickly and follow directions was very good - I wanted to get a DVD player that wouldn't be used alot (for the bathroom - so I could watch from the spa tub) so I really didn't want all the bells and whistles - just a remote and one that worked well - got what was needed and advertised for what I paid - thanks -

Product Arrived BrokenMy son received the DVD player as a Christmas gift. He opened the box and found that it would not operate. He discovered two problems.
1. The cd drawer would not open properly.
2. The play button did not work.
He found that a subassembly inside the DVD player was not attached to its proper location. He snapped it back in place and now the DVD player works fine.

My son likes these DVD's from Germany, and for whatever reason, this player is the only one that will PLAY them. I found it right away, the product was in BRAND NEW condition, and the seller was amazing in getting the product here.

I purchased this DVD player for my son's room, since it was compact and inexpensive. After a week of use, it stopped playing dvd's. The dvd's won't load at all and I got absolutely no help from the customer service department. I will never buy another cheap product from Coby again!

I am overall very pleased with this purchase.
It plays the dvds very well and even plays a cd that will not play in my car cause of a minor scratch.
The only thing I really dislike about it is that you always have to turn off the subtitles and you have to push the open/close button about 5 times before it really opens.
Overall i give it a 4/5 because it is a great dvd player that could be only a little bit better.

Love this player - great price and works flawlessly for both pal & ntsc dvd's. Only con is the remote - very small labels for all of the buttons - not intuitive, all buttons same size and same spacing. But for the money & ability to play dvd's from UK, I couldn't be happier!

This DVD player was advertised as a code free, region free player. There are no instructions to unlock it and no information online. You can only play Region 1 dvds. It otherwise is an average dvd player at a low cost.

This dvd does not play more than region 1 dvds which is terrible because the market is growing for All Region dvd players! This incompatent dvd player is useless to anyone except for people who like small things.

I was buying the DVD player for a friend and wanted him to have something new, small and dependable. After shopping ebay I new I could find all that and more at the right price on ebay. He was very happy to recieve the player and was most happy to know I didn't have to spend much money on him.
