Cobra HH 38 WX ST 40-Channels Handheld CB Radio

I bought it for a motorcycle trip and it worked very well. I added an earpiece and microphone along with a RAM bracket to mount it on my motorcycle and it worked perfect.

bought to use in my wife vehicle if road conditions turned bad. Works well for this. This past few days we used it to monitor wx as we were in the middle of a flood zone. I used the radio to go in to get neighbors trapped by high water. One being my wifes Aunt and Uncle. I was able to keep my family updated on my condition and how we wer doing brining folks out. I have an older model also and this surpassed my expectations. The State Police actually talked with me during to trip in to bring people out and had a ambulance for on lady waiting. What more could you ask of a hand radio? Just for the record we went in with a very large endloader and trailer at a high rate of slow. picking the place to drive carefully.

I broke one, so I replaced it 5 years ago. I realized that I need a second one. I began shopping for price. I found an online dealer, where the price was excellent. The Cobra HH38WXST is a great little radio. I used it as a truck driver when I was in trailer yards locating a trailer for a yard mule driver to pull out a loaded trailer. I would radio to the Yard driver where the trailer was located and have the guy come and get it out. I also use this radio for all kinds of field events, and roadside emergencies. I love the clarity of Sound Tracker. The weather channels are wonderful, they have saved me a number of times from getting soaked or traveling through snowstorms. The one shortcoming is the factory antenna. It is worth it to buy the Cobra extendable or purchasing the Radio Shack extendable antenna. The signal out of those two antennas greatly increase signal distance from the factory supplied antenna. With a full 4 watts legal output The Cobra HH38 is a fine radio. It is not a toy, it is a well thought out radio. I am a ham radio operator, and I am into many kinds of radios. The Cobra HH38WXST has been and is an excellent radio since it's inception. I wouldn't have purchased a third one If I didn't think so. I found an Ebay store that had the best price, for a brand new one. My other two had broken parts, which I could order new from Cobra. Now I have three in Good working condition. My two older ones are 5 & 6 years old and with new parts are back in good working order. I hope Cobra continues to manufacture this radio for many years to come.

Sturdy compact handheld radio. Scans all 40 CB channels plus has 10 weather channels. Has an additional feature to improve reception clarity. Relatively light weight and user friendly design. Cobra is a reliable brand name. I chose the product based on the reputation of the brand. An array of accessories is available on the Cobra web site. I just slip the radio in the side pocket of my vehicle and when the road gets clogged up with traffic, I just listen and someone usually explains where the tie up is and where it ends. It is also comforting to have Channel 9 available if I have a roadside emergency and do not have cell phone coverage.

I like it because this is a radio/handheld CB.Because I need this radio for for my job and to contact some people for help.
