Coal Miner's Daughter (2005, DVD)

This movies is very good in a sense that you learn the way it was back then when a country singer especially a woman to make it big in country music, as it was not all that common for singer to write their own songs it was more of the traditional type of songs that were being sung. Until Loretta Lynn stepped in and changed the face of country music forever.

za all time fav of mine would be good movie for any collectors collection and the true life story makes you think how nice we have it now days

The last seller I ordered this DVD from ripped me off and many, many others. I was leaving that person negative feedback and accidentally sent it as your feedback.

If you are a fan of country music, you must own this movie. I'm not a huge fan of country, but my fiance is, and I got this for her. I've seen the movie a number of times, and she had never seen it. She has watched it a few times since I got if for her and she loves this movie!!!

My 11 year old daughter had never even heard of Loretta Lynn, but loved country music. I told her that she had to see this movie. At first she wasn't too excited, but once she started watching she was hooked. She even liked it better than Walk the Line. My 17 year old son started watching it too. He thought it was great that Tommy Lee Jones was in it. It is a great movie about a classic country legend. A sure hit for any family!!!

One of my all time favs!! I love Sissy S. She pays a wonderful part as a clueless young teen bride coming from a poor family. It's a wonderful movie! :]

I never received the item after I paid for it and now the seller is no longer registered with ebay. I have opened a dispute. This is the first time this has ever happeded.

I like the quality of the video also the timing in recieving the product.
I bought it for a present , my daughter was very pleased with this product.

Why haven't I received the dvd i bought?Was this some kind of rip off by the seller?

I LOVE THE MOVIE. IT SHOWED ALOT OF PROBLEMS LORETTA HAD WHEN SHE FIRST STARTED. I WISH THEY HAD MORE MOVIES LIKE THIS.

AFTER BUYING THE DVD I CHANGED ADDRESS AND THE ITEM GOT RETURNED TO SENDER. ONCE I REALIZED THIS AND CONTACTED THEM THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL AND QUICK TO SEND THE ITEM BACK OUT TO THE NEW ADDRESS.THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND EASY TO DO BUSINESS WITH. THANK YOU!!!

I had wanted this movie for a long long time, finally I found it at a very
good price. I won the movie and it didnt take but a few days to get it.
I watched it when it first came in and fell in love with Loretta Lynn all over again. Very good quality dvd, and the movie was just as great as I remembered it.

It's great- thanks. I am glad to see that it was exactly what I expected it to be. I am a big Loretta Lynn fan and have worn out my VHS so the Dvd is perfect.

I liked this movie because it showed the plight of hard working miners and living in the hills of Kentucky. It also showed that a man determined to better himself found a career for his wife as a country singer.

I have loved this movie for many years. I was thrilled to get add it to my dvd collection. Sissy Spacek gives and endearing and enduring performance as the incomparable Loretta Lynn.

I had owned the vhs version & it broke so I began looking on ebay for a replacement and was delighted to find a new cd at a good price.My service was very good.

This is a super movie about the life of Mrs. Loretta Lynn set in the hills of Kentucky, if you like true life movies I highly recommend this item.

I LOVE this movie. I have the VHS & my sister bought me the DVD. I am from WV & a coal miner's Daughter & daughter in law & have been to Kentucky & can relate. Even now in these times, the same things are happening. I love to see someone from a poor family turn it around & become a star. I am such a huge fan of Loretta Lynn. I have been to the concerts & seen her in person. She is like an idol to me. Something to look up to & wish to become. This movie is so real & true about how if you want to bad enough, you can make your dreams come true. It also gets you back in reality & lets you know that life is not always a bed of roses. Recommend everyone gets to watch it.

I really like older movies. I really enjoy watching movies about famous people,such as in this movie the story of Loretta Lynn. It's interesting to know how the famous peoples'life really was. I really don't dislike anything about this movie. I pretty much know the words of this movie word for word. The reason I bought it is because it's about the "queen of country music" and her life. The producers of Coal Miner's Daughter couldn't have picked better actors as Sissy Spacey and Tommy Lee Jones.

Sissy Spacek became Loretta Lynn in this story of her beginning in Butcher Holler, Kentucky--the oldest of 8 children of a coal miner and his stay-at-home wife. Married at the age of 13, the story follows her and her husband, Mooney, played wonderfully by Tommy Lee Jones as they move to the West coast and he insists that she develop her musical talent to make money for the family. The movie is hilarious, and Sissy Spacek plays the part magnificently and won an Academy Award. Equally good is Beverly D'Angelo as Patsy Cline, who enters the story when Loretta Lynn starts to be heard in Nashville. All three of these stars are wonderful!

The story develops to the point where Loretta becomes well off, and she is touring all the time while her husband takes care of the kids and the ranch that they buy in Nashville.

The music is wonderfully sung by Sissy Spacek and Beverly D'Angelo. Songs include Sissy singing "You Ain't Woman Enough to Take My Man", the title song, "Honky Tonk Girl", "You're Looking at Country," and "Don't Come Home a Drinkin'" Beverly sings "Sweet Dreams".

This is a movie not to be missed.

I KNEW I HAD FOUND SOMETHING MY DAUGHTER REALLY WANTED TO CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR. WORDS COULD NOT TELL YOU THE SUPRISE ON HER FACE WHEN SHE OPENED IT.
