Clerks II (2006, DVD) You Never Go @ss To Mouth...

In 1994, writer-director Kevin Smith scored a surprise indie hit with the low-budget, black-and-white CLERKS, which won awards at the Sundance and Cannes Film Festivals and has attracted a growing cult audience over the years. Following such movies as MALLRATS, CHASING AMY, and DOGMA, Smith returns to his roots for CLERKS II, a very funny, very raunchy sequel. It's been more than 10 years, but Dante Hicks (Brian O'Halloran) and Randal Graves (Jeff Anderson) are still working at the same Quick Stop video and convenience store in New Jersey--until it burns down. They both end up finding jobs at the nearby Mooby's, a fast-food joint (with the motto "I'm Eating It!") managed by Becky (Rosario Dawson). While Dante gets prepared to move to Florida to marry Emma (Smith's real-life wife, Jennifer Schwalbach), Randal harasses geeky "Funployee of the Month" Elias (Trevor Fehrman), a dweeb who worships the Transformers and believes, much to Randal's consternation, that THE LORD OF THE RINGS is superior to STAR WARS. Also back are Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (Smith), who contribute their own warped world view of sex, drugs, and rock & roll. The film features a string of cameos by familiar faces from other Smith films, including Jason Lee, Ben Affleck, Walter Flanagan, and producer Scott Mosier, as well as Kevin Weisman (ALIAS), Ethan Suplee (MY NAME IS EARL), and Wanda Sykes (CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM); and the excellent soundtrack ranges from Talking Heads and the Smashing Pumpkins to King Diamond and Smith vet Alanis Morissette. And beware the donkey.

  Clerks 2 dvd

Well, first of all I am a huge fan of Kevin Smith, and have followed tons of his movies.(Dogma,Jay&Silent Bob strike back,Mallrats,Clerks,Clerks2,Chasing amy) and I know that this would be a great, butyet more serious comedy because all of the characters are getting older(as well as the actors) I hope they never stop making movies because I never follow movies, besides when I have found myself follwing every single movie Smith has directed.(I lie, I also follow Guy Ritchie as well, but that's it) I think there are so many garbage movies put out these days it's almost a "breath of fresh air" to be able to step back and realize some of the best movies are made from inviduals who do what they do becuase it's what THEY want to do, and they do no conform to anyone. I will continue to follow and support Smith in anything he does and I wish the best for Jason Mewes, he's a great guy and deserves more for himself than what he gives himself credit for. He's incredibly talented and other than Eddie Murphy,Richard Pryor,Jim Carey,& Kat Williams I think he is probably one of the funniest motherfuckers I have ever seen in my life, but he keeps it real, and that's what this country needs more of, motherfuckers keepin it gully. Anywyas, I just want to say support your people, the people who you wathc on TV and even though you dont realize it, these people affect your life in ways you cant imagine. They are the ones who can bring you happiness when your sad, or bring you relaxation when your stressed. More so, this is why they do what they do. FOR US!

Thank you to all my people

Truly outstanding adolescent type humor. Rosario Dawson is as HOT as ever. I laughed out loud on many occasions during this flick.
Would recommend to people who have a sense of humor than runs all over the place.
Those who don't like sexual or dark humor will not like this stuff.

Closing the Dante and Randal festival
Review created: 03/15/08

This movie a closure at this point and time for Dante and Randal. The ending of the first movie and Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back makes you question what happens next? This movie gives a great summary of their life with them now in their thirties.
The DVD is great picture and dialgoue wise. Being a dialogue heavy movie, the Dolby 5.1 Surround track wasn't really needed. Although, there was great bass reaction with the fire in the beginning and the music.
All in all, I recommend this to fans of the View Askiewniverse.

Not exactally like Clerk, but still extremely funny. Crude humor taken to the limits that have your sides hurting for hours on end. Originally done and there are no other movies like it.

Clerks 2; Hardly Clerkin. (but totally awesome.)

I love Clerks (the original) so much that I actually wanted not to like this movie so I could say how much greater Clerks is then its sequel. Not possible, this movie is (just as most other flix by him) one hilarious line after another. If you've seen anything else by him and liked it, you have to see this one. If you've never seen anything by Kevin Smith, do so immediately! Start at Clerks, and go chronologically.

If you have seen one or all of Kevin Smiths movies then you know about Jay and Silent Bob. I loved how this movie follows the storyline from clerks. I loved it, i bought it, and watch it when i want to laugh. Jay and Silent Bob really come threw at the end, that fat movie check from Jay and Silent Bob strike back was the answer to the main problem.

Clerks II is an excellent if not better Sequel

There was a hilarious script that just kept these characters coming out as funny, funny people with each remark funnier than the last. Dante and Randal work together so well and the addition of Rosario Dawson was brilliant. A solid story line with Dante, his future wife, and a sexy store manager made this movie click along. With the remarkable banter between Randal and his nerdy co-worker and many special guests to the "Mooby's Restaurant (Ben, Jason, Jay, and Siulent Bob, and others) this was truely a treat!! Kevin Smith, you set your bar high in trying to top your original hit, but you did it. Well done!!

If you are a Clerks Fan, you'll love clerks 2! It keeps that same dry sense of humor and there are a couple new characters added to the mix. I have heard people say that it was a mistake to make a sequel to the first because it was so great, but honestly I like the second one even better.

If you love Kevin Smith Movies, A Must Have
Review created: 12/30/06

Kevin Smith is a genius as a director and actor. He is not afraid to tackle any subject no matter how odd or possibly distasteful to some. He comes back strong with Clerks II after a little off the beaten path with Jersey Girl. But if you love, Clerks, Dogma, Chasing Amy, Mall Rats, you will adore this new Kevin Smith movie.

  Thank You Kevin Smith !!!!

"Clerks 2" is a sequel-based comedy from Writer/Producer/Director Kevin Smith, who started a great career by bringing us his original Black & White cult-hit (CLERKS) in 1994. It was the first of, (now 6), "New Jersey Saga's". A dialogue-driven comedy of two young men, (Dante and Randall), wasting their lives away, day-by-day, working as "Clerks" in a local QuickStop Market Store and Video Store adjacent to it. Their only seemingly driven exercise is to keep two losers from hanging outside their markets everyday. Enter "Jay & Silent Bob", Kevin Smith's master creation in comedy. (Kevin Smith himself plays 'Silent Bob'). "Jay", a foul-mouthed obscene loser and Silent Bob who nearly never speaks, but will seemingly, (once a movie), come up with the one most intriguingly insightful thought and speak it once. Usually, a solve-all solution that puts everything and everyone into answer-mode for whatever crisis they face throughout these "6" New Jersey based comedies. -- CLERKS 2 is a return to what Kevin Smith brought us. We are reintroduced to Dante and Randall at the QuickMart, where they become forced to get new jobs when the QuickMart burns down. (You really need to see the first CLERKS to appreciate this). They get jobs at a local fast-food restaraunt "Mooby's", where the restaraunts catch phrase is "I'm Eating It!". The dialogue starts to fly and the obscene is let loose, as Dante & Randall begin the daily task of opening and running the local fast-food stop, dealing with customers and debating heavily what is better "Lord of the Rings" or "Star Wars"....and WHY? -- Kevin Smith has always had a unique ear for dialogue and insight into relationships and an incredible gift to produce these, always low-budget films, that pack more entertainment into scenes than imaginable, without nearly-ever changing scenery. Yes, the entire movie will be filmed in exactly one-spot only, but you easily become enraptured into the obscene, sacriligious, racial-vs-non-racial, insensitive, heavily sex-driven dialogue that "We all think about but never say". Well, Dante and Randall will say it, and a lot more....and so do "Jay & Silent Bob". Well, at least "Jay" does. -- The movie CLERKS 2 is simply a gift from Kevin Smith. In days when special effects, computer-generated destruction and creatures, explosions, gun-battles and more dominate our films., it is an absolute pleasure to sit down and be entertained by a film that makes you laugh simply from what these characters "talk-about" while wasting their days away....and the effects their conversations have on others. -- Really, I guess, I am praising ALL the "New Jersey" films of Kevin Smith in this review of his latest, (and hopefully not last), film "CLERKS 2". -- Kevin Smith brilliantly chases down what we are programmed not to say.. and breaks the chains. NONE OF THESE FILMS ARE MEANT FOR YOUNGSTERS !!!! -- Adults, sit back, release your inner phobias and offensive barriers, and let these loveable losers entertain you, like you've never been entertained. You will laugh until it hurts. SEE ALL 6 FILMS -- (CLERKS, MALLRATS, CHASING AMY, DOGMA, JAY & SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK, CLERKS 2) -- IN ORDER!!!! The same characters and cameos are in every movie as they build on-top of one another, and you fall in love more and more with these "outlets of the human experience". -- CLERKS 2, I laughed so hard I was in tears....and that was only the opening scene. -- Thank You Kevin Smith !!!!
