China Seas (2006, DVD)

China Seas (1935) is a fun action/adventure movie about a captain (Clark Gable) sailing a ship full of passengers and concealed gold through the Orient. He must contend with his low-class lover (Jean Harlow), a cowardly officer desperate to prove his mettle (Lewis Stone), and the accomplice of ruthless pirates (Wallace Beery). Meanwhile, his old flame (Rosalind Russell) has just arrived with the news that her husband is dead.

Harlow does everything possible to keep Gable's attention on her, but his interest in Russell drives Harlow to befriend Beery, whom she discovers has arranged to have his pirate associates attack the ship and steal the gold.

The ensuing plot is exciting, with heroism, romance, and a bit of comedy. The cast all deliver entertaining performances, and you'll find yourself having plenty of fun while watching the story unfold.
