Chilton Repair Manuals.

YAY! This is my first review on any item I've bought, and I hope that others get something from my point of view.
These manuals are very accurate, and each Chilton repair manual is based on an actual tear-down of the specific vehicle the book covers. The photos are accurate, and the information and instructions are very detailed and are specific. These manuals aren't like some that only give general repair techniques. This makes things more self-explanatory and clear. Any home mechanical repair or servicing will come easily if you go slow, read and re-read the text, and take care to understand and follow the specific instructions given.
You don't need to be an ASE certified mechanic to get a good working understanding of what you are doing with these manuals. The home or hobby mechanic will find that any task they undertake will come easily if a person reads, understands, and follows the instructions given.
Even the beginner will find these books helpful. The photos are accurate to the specific car the manuals cover. You won't be looking at photos of a similar repair on a different model or different year vehicle. When you see a photo of the alternator or brake assembly, you will be looking at a photo taken of these parts as they will be found on your car. From routine scheduled maintenance to the in-depth rebuilding of the major components, everything is covered in text as well as photos.
The main thing to be aware of is this: be careful to buy a book that covers your make, model, and year of car. It's the only way you can be sure everything will be accurate and that it applies to your vehicle. Know you have enough tools to do the task you wish to do, and that you are OK with attempting the maintenance and/or repair needed.
These books are an invaluable source of knowledge. By buying the specific manual and doing the routine maintenance yourself, you will be able to save enough money to offset those major repairs that could possibly come up later. By taking great care and following a rigid schedule of routine maintenance, you may actually prevent major component failures.
It's just not possible to go wrong here. A well cared for and properly maintained vehicle is safer, overall less expensive, will last longer and be worth more than a vehicle that hasn't been cared for on the same level. From tire pressure to major component repair or replacement, everything you need can be found in a Chilton repair manual. Maintenance is always less expensive than repairs, and repairs are always less expensive than vehicle replacement.
Thank You.
