Doin' It "Doggy and Froggy Style" on Ludacris's Chicken and Beer

Pros: Some funny lyrics, Good tracks here and there
Cons: Most of the lyrical content, It's forgettable
Ludacris is one of those few rappers that I can actually tolerate. Though I m sure many people out there despise the Atlanta-native for being too commercial, no one can deny the fact that he manages to produce some hot beats and is capable of rapping well. Some folks also criticize Luda for using inappropriate and pointless subject matter, and while I completely understand where that s coming from, lyrics like she s on your sack and balls / you call her jabber jaws will have the sternest of grandmothers throughout nation restraining a slight chuckle. But hell, I ll even say it Even though...

Ludacris Serves You Up Southern Style With Chicken And Beer
Review created: 10/04/03

Pros: ludacris is a great lyricist, beats
Cons: i might be too-old for-some-of it, @24 it even makes me blush a little
Even though the more time passes by the more I frown upon the mangled state of Hip-Hop, I can t help but be slightly tickled by southern-fried rapper Ludacris. Despite having one of the better flows and delivery in Hip-Hop today: Luda (as he is affectionately called) is unapologetic for who he is, a southern boy made good and he never once forgets where he s from. I love that he s unforgiving for that, that he s just completely politically incorrect and that he makes fun of blowhard Bill O Reilly. With his fourth album (if you count Incognegro), Ludacris has established himself as one of the..

Pros: Humor, ludacris's phenomenal skill, beats, music
Cons: Chingy still sucks and kids should definitely not be introduced to this album.
Warning this review contains quoted lyrics from an album that uses adult language and discusses adult themes . When it comes to Southern Hospitality, no rapper has ever made the impact Ludacris has. Starting out as a radio DJ in the ATL, Ludacris recorded an album and distributed it independtly. When his underground hit "What's Your Fantasy?" made waves he was immediately signed by Def Jam records and started his label Disturbing Tha Peace. Taking his album "Inconegro" adding a little big record company magic and rereleasing it as "Back For The First Time" Ludacris was introduced to the...

Pros: "Stand Up," general humorous feel even in the album's lesser spots.
Cons: Production could use some work
Why am I dropping compulsive reviews? Cuz I'm on break and I ain't got sh*t to do for a coupla days. Why am I doin' reviews on older albums...well, cuz nothing's really come out this year so far. Expect a review of that Timbaland album when it drops though, sh*t's gonna be hot. At least I hope so. That's not really hip hop though, more like hiphopoprockadopolis. Anyway, onto the second and final for now part of my incomplete backwards Ludacris series. As I mentioned in my other review, while the dude relies on typical mainstream themes -- mostly on how much of a mack he is with women/hoes/b...
