Obie Trice - Real Name, Too Many Gimmicks
Review created: 09/16/03
by: cletta1201 -- a member of Epinions
Pros: are there any?
Cons: too many for 15 words
Let s just face the facts at hand even if Obie Trice was a garbage rapper (and he is) he s packed by the Superman of Hip-Hop, the seemingly invincible Eminem - able to make death threats in 16 bars, and pistol whip fools for jealousy, everything that Eminem touches really does turn gold. Taking executive producer credits on his prot g s debut album Cheers Obie Trice has been literally blessed with success before he even said one whack word. From the promise that in several copies of his album are golden tickets to meet the blonde one (why not meet Obie? Oh yeah no one cares), to the...
Ever since his freestyle on D12's Devils Night, many fans have been patiently waiting for Obie Trice's album. He had been swirling around in the Detroit underground for sometime before Eminem found him. However with the explosion of JFK coins being heard everywhere on radios and music videos alike, 50 Cent and his spinning G Unit booted O-Trizzy to the bench. Obie Trice has been found on many a mixtape however increasing the buzz about his album and with fractionally above par appearances on the 8 Mile soundtrack, Shady Records fans abroad were amped for this. Despite that toilet food song...

Real Name .Some Gimmicks .Great Album!

Pros: Some great production and lyricism; Obie has got some skills; funny
Cons: 2 much Eminem; some production and raps; too many cameos<BR/>
The Main Idea: 50 Cent has been in the game for a minute but his label mate, Obie Trice, is a relative newcomer. Obie first got a little taste of success when he was featured on a track on D-12 s Devil s Night. He then started creating a buzz on some mixtapes all the while being signed to Eminem s Shady Records. Then in 2001, people first started hearing a little more about Obie after he was featured on Eminem s The Eminem Show on a track called Drips. And he s the guy at the beginning of Em s Without Me saying Obie Trice, real name, no gimmicks. Then he was featured on the 8 Mile...

Cheers: An Average Man Flipped Into An Animal
Review created: 04/13/07
by: the_carnage -- a member of Epinions
Pros: Trice has got skils, production is top class
Cons: 50 Cent imitations, Eminem dominance
Things were going so well for Obie Trice. Taken straight outta the gutter by Eminem and signed to his Shady Records record label to begin work on his debut album amongst the likes of the legendary Dr. Dre Trice had the opportunity of a lifetime to prove his lyrical skills and rawness to the world. Besides from a few underground songs he did before he was signed - The Well Known As-hole, Mr. Trice and Dope Jobs Homeless (all which were dope as f*ck and originally convinced Eminem to sign him) as well as a few appearances on Shady Records albums (a short freestyle on Devils Night, a verse on...

Obie Trice - Cheers

Pros: See review
Cons: See review
This is the first release from Eminems' young prodigy, Obie Trice. Eminem has high hopes for the fella' and is backing him all of the way. This album is released on Eminems' own label, Shady Records. Much of the album is produced by Eminem and also Doctor Dre, so you can expect a stunning project. Track 1 - Average Man Any album needs a good opening track to keep you interested and want to carry on listening. It starts very slowly, with a heavy hip hop base line. It is a very uncomplicated track to start with, some very powerful lyrics. He portrays himself as just a man off the street, the ...
