Blu-Ray movies. I can not tell if is the picture or the sound. But it is like seeing it for the first time. Better than going to the movies. I wear glasses and I can remember when I got my fist pair the whole world just opened up. The story is good sound effects even better.
Was as described and shipped fast. The seller had good reviews, the listing was clear, the shipping was reasonableI bought it because it is my favorite movie and waanted to continue viewing in the new format of blu ray.
Good movie, very good plot, top rate actors.Much better on blu-ray.Got it used and worth it seen this movie several times as the movie is one you can see several times.
Great Picture and sound. With the Blu-Ray DVD transfer its great watching it in HD. I the plot and acting are solid, but I really think having seen the regular dvd vs. the Blu-Ray there is no comparison. If you like the story you will love the Blu Ray version

Whoa! Keanu Plays A Genius?

Pros: duo of Keanu Reeve and Rachel Weisz; Chicago and a real lab setting
Cons: Morgan Freeman's character; convoluted, confusing story
You would think that with a promising storyline of visionary scientists discovering an alternative, cheap energy source in plain water that s been sonoluminesced, an actual scientific phenomenon (read http://www.aip.org/physnews/preview/1996/chain/ by the Amercan Institute of Physics for more info), then the rest of the plot would also fascinate with its vision. Alas, tis but a dream! After Eddie, the University of Chicago student scientist/machinist, makes the Hydrogen Fuel Project a stunning success, disagreement over what to do with their discovery leads to a chain reaction of standard...

Great Idea, Mediocre Movie...

Pros: It tries really hard to be a tense techno-thriller...
Cons: ... but fails, mainly through poor editing and production style.
I m Chain Reaction starts off with an intriguing premise and goes downhill from there, despite trying really hard to be a tense techno-thriller. In The initial idea, of a new power-source being developed from water (we re not talking traditional hydro-power here though) which supposedly has the capacity to use the hydrogen in small glass of water to power the whole city of Chicago for weeks is brilliant. The idea of the rich and powerful oil companies being desperate to stop this is entirely credible. The idea of an eccentric scientist wanting to actually give away this technology is less...

The High Cost of Cheap Fuel Chain Reaction
Review created: 12/21/07

Pros: mostly great cast, special effects, good plot
Cons: reveals too early so you can guess the ending 1/2 hour away, drags in places
Here is yet another film based on a great story idea, yet didn't quite reach the heights you'd think it would. Here's another of my randomly chosen movies off of my movie channels which sounded really good from the description and had the plus of starring Morgan Freeman. Paul Shannon (Morgan Freeman) is the assistant director on a ground-breaking project for producing hydrogen fuel...not just producing it, mind you, but making it self-sustaining so it would cost next to nothing once the appropriate equipment was in place and of course burn perfectly clean unlike fuels currently in use....

Big Explosions - Plot Implosions

Pros: Some decent action scenes, great explosions and moderate suspense. Weisz and Reeves are fun.
Cons: Ludicrous, unbelievable conspiracy based plot. Embarrassing role for Morgan Freeman. Too much like "The Fugitive".
It took me a long time to eventually get around to seeing Chain Reaction on video. I missed it at the cinemas and then, unlike almost 99% of the English speaking world, I was rather unimpressed with star Keanu Reeves' mega-hit, The Matrix. Eventually however, armed with my respect for Morgan Freeman as an actor and liking for a bit of suspense and action, I rented the movie from my local video store. Chain Reaction casts Reeves as a young student scientist who is working on an amazing renewable fuel source, with a team of other scientists lead by a starry eyed idealist of a professor. When it.
