Cats is a very wonderful way to spend the afternoon letting your mind just wonder being thrilled, entertained and truly enchanted. It is very refreshing to hear even after the amount of time it has been around and with no wonder! It's music is devine, it's lyrics are simply amazing! It is every thing that a good Broadway show is suppost to be even though it is brought to Broadway via England (It's composer is English). It is a good piece of musical Broadway scoring at it's best and I would highly recomend it to anyone who is a novice about the subject but is really wanting to know what all of the excitment is about regarding it. Listen for your self and you will see.

Pros: Excellent performances, Memory
Cons: A bit too wordy with poems for me
A long time ago maybe 1986 or so? - my parents took me to see this musical. I can t say I remember it all that well, except that the performers tended to roam throughout the crowd. I also remember being confused as to exactly what was happening. Later in my life, however, remembering some of my good times, I decided I wanted the song Memory, and this CD just happened to be on sale and in front of me, so I purchased it. The CD itself tends to be so much about cats that it gets a bit juvenile at times, which doesn t appeal to me very much. Four stars for me for being good music, but for losing..

CATS - The Original Broadway Soundtrack

Pros: Wonderful and catchy music
Cons: Not including "The Awefull Battle of the Pekes and the Pollicles."
CATS is one of the most successful musicals in history. It may have a weak plot, but it still wins over the hearts of its members. This is reflected on the Broadway cast recording, starring Betty Buckley and Ken Page, who make excellent contributions. Betty Buckley as Grizabella is very yearning, especially during the show's standout number "Memory." Complementing Buckley is Ken Page, with his sonorous bell-like tone giving the character to Old Deuteronomy. Timothy Scott's Mr. Mistoffelees is youthful and innocent, and Terrence Mann gives a playful depiction of the Rum Tum Tugger. Among the...

Pros: -Nice sound -Wonderful cast and collection; TIMOTHY SCOTT IS THE BEST! -Adorable backround music
Cons: -Does not include 'The Aweful Battle of the Pekes and the Pollicles'
I've hungered for this soundtrack for ages and have wondered if it was really worth the money you have to pay for it nowadays. Looking back on the purchase, it sure as Hell is. First off, the orchestra is rather impressive. Not as big as the video one, but MUCH larger than the original London cast-that's understood, though; They were on a low budget. A few of the songs were nowhere near as good as the originals. For example, Betty Buckley was a wonderful Grizabella, but she doesn't match up to Elaine Page by a long shot, and Munkustrap's voice is REALLY annoying sometimes. He hits a few sour..

Jellicle Cats, Come One, Come All...

Pros: Detail-oriented, great feline depiction
Cons: Long, eerie atmosphere, which is not necessarily a bad thing
I was actually raised listening to this soundtrack, of the wonderfully haunting musical CATS. I think that the music produced creates a spooky and mysterious atmosphere, and proves successful in capturing the essence of feline life! The album includes songs that vary greatly in mood, exposing the sometimes overlooked world of cats. They are cleverly portrayed as each possessing a distinct temperament, as cats do in real life. My favorite is "Skimbleshanks the Railway Cat" The music has such energy and creativity. Onstage, the cats create a train out of pieces of junk from the junkyard. Not...
