While at first I was unsure if I would like this movie, I gave in and saw it any ways. Boy I am glad I did! Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks. It's almost like a cat/mouse story. Tom Hanks character is trying to get a hold of Leonardo DiCaprio's character. This movie is based on a true story (which makes this movie unbelievable and even more wonderful). This is a great movie that shows you what you can do if you really put your mind to it. I have told a couple of my friends about this movie and they loved it also. A great family movie and a must see!

Steven Spielberg's adaptation of Frank W. Abagnale's autobiography CATCH ME IF YOU CAN follows the cat-and-mouse chase of Abagnale (Leonardo DiCaprio) and FBI agent Carl Hanratty (Tom Hanks) as Abagnale travels the world passing forged checks and assuming false identities. Covering the time period from 1963-69, the film leaps from the suburbs of New York to Georgia, Louisiana, Miami, France and the skies of Pan American airlines with Abagnale, who passes himself off as a pilot, doctor, lawyer and socialite, while constantly frustrating Hanratty's attempts to nab the increasingly cunning forger. CATCH ME IF YOU CAN finds Spielberg drawing on the father-son relationship that develops between Abagnale and Hanratty, filling a void left in the lives of each man: Abagnale's strained relationship with his tax-cheat father (Christopher Walken) and Hanratty's never-seen family left behind in the wake of a divorce. As Hanratty pursues Abagnale, their mutual admiration and respect grows, and finally they even come to rely on each other.

Very interesting movie in many waysBoth DeCaprio and Hanks did a great job. It teaches you a lot about how the financial system worked at a particular time, which was interesting to me. It's amazing to see the feats that can be accomplished if you just show confidence in yourself, and how someone can push that to the extreme.
It also shows how technology has helped put an end to many of the loopholes exploited in this movie.
It's definitely worth watching a few times.

Great Entertainment.For all those who grew up hearing 'crime doesn't pay' prepare to have that bubble busted. The true life story of a teenager who, exceedingly intelligent, learns how to game the system and is a consistent winner is mind boggling. Great performances from all, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks and Christopher Walken. You will not be disappointed with this gem in your movie library.

Based on a true story. Great example of, "truth is stranger than fiction." This adventurous story will have you amazed at the moxy of the star. Leonardo is terrific in this role. As usual, Tom Hanks is flawless in his role as an FBI agent.

A great game, based on a true story, cat & mouseI tend to over write on these reviews. but the thing is, you really can't improve on a great piece of non-fiction like this movie is. I must say that I thought Tom Hanks was superb and in a way was a father figure to Leonardo Di'Caprio. What this young man accomplished would be unbelievable if we did not know that it was based on fact. Today I don't think that he could have gotten away with most of this stuff, but who knows, life is stranger than fiction. I loved it and hope that if you haven't seen it, you will purchase it from E-Bay or whereever you may want to rent it first. By all means, add this to your film library.

I bought Catch Me If You Can DVD (also got the book) cause its a true story, My mom and brother had told me about it and thought we would like it.I enjoy true based movies and my husband likes books alot.The movie left out alot of details that the book has so not give it excellent but it was an awesome movie and very interesting. This boy/man waas very smart and wind up working for the FBI.

I decided to buy this film because I had seen it once on TV and was so mezmorized by the suspense! I literally could not take my eyes off of the screen. After I saw it once, I knew I wanted to see it again. This film is a hide and seek film that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I would highly recommend it. Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio star in it and Christopher Walken is also in it.
Leonardo DiCaprio's character is based on a real life story of a money counterfeiter and forges all kinds of checks stealing millions of dollars. Tom Hanks is a detective who is chasing Leonardo DiCaprio but he always manages to get away. The only thing I didn't like about it is that DiCaprio's character is a womanizer so they have a few risky scenes. Other than that this movie is perfect.

ok so I finally gave in and rented the movie..first i must say I wish i purchased it..
the movie was wonderful not great for everyone as some say howeevr i believe this is a great movie for all. so many didnt rent purcahse or see this movie and i strongly think you all should go and get it.. forget the renatl fee just buy it you will be pleased you did..

Lots of action!! not great for all ages but would recomend for every one..this is not only a must see movie but it is a must have movie. seen it a few years back and always thought about iut but never bought it until now and am extemely happy with it!!! A+++++++++++

The movie is well written and has a very good story...too go of a story. In fact my 25 year old son watched this movie and thought her could do the same thing, unfortunatly the young man in this movie did this some 30 years ago and todays technology busted my son almost right away...so...Dont try this at home.

Seems like all I've seen for the last week is hype around this Catch Me If You Can. First there was the preview. Then, a cardboard still set up in the movie theater, cleverly placed so that you see it on the way out, not in. (Ya know, so you actually have an idea what it's about and are more likely to be swayed by its presence there.) Then ads all over MSN, in the newspaper, and everywhere. For a movie that won t require a marathon of heavy brainwork on the part of the audience, and offers some genuine entertainment, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN is a good way to spend a couple of hours. I am glad I waited for this to be released in DVD to see it. The extras are worth waiting for.
