HELLO, I AM ANNIE SZOTT, POETRY4FUN@CHARTER.NET, MY ID ON EBAY IS POETRY4FUN -

I HAD SEEN THIS MOVIE SEVERAL YEARS AGO ON HBO AND THAT WAS THE DAYS BEFORE I HAD THE DVR MACHINE WHERE YOU CAN RECORD YOUR MOVIES AND GO BACK AND WATCH THEM LATER
AND I JUST REMEMBERED IT WHEN I WAS LOOKING THROUGH THIS KIND SELLER'S MOVIES AND THERE IT WAS, AND I JUST HAD TO HAVE IT!

THE MOVIE WAS PERFECT, A MOVIE THAT IS TRUE ABOUT A FBI AGENT, PLAYED BY TOM HANKS AND THE MAN WAS LEONARDO ???? LAST NAME I CAN'T THINK OF IT, BUT THE AMAZING PART
WAS HOW HE WAS A DOCTOR, LAWYER, AN AIRPLANE PILOT, AND HE WAS DOING ALL OF THIS
WHEN HE WAS JUST 17 YEARS OLD, AND THEN TOM HANKS FINALLY CAUGHT HIM IN FRANCE AND THE GOVERNMENT WANTED HIM SO BAD, WELL, HE KEPT ESCAPING, FINALLY IN PRISON, THE FBI AGENT, OVER TOM HANKS, ASKED HIM IF HE WANTED TO HELP THEM WITH CATCHING OTHER CHECK FRAUD PEOPLE, AND HE DID, AND HE WORKED WITH TOM HANKS FOR YEARS AND YEARS AND THE FBI PAID HIM MILLIONS OF DOLLARS A YEAR, AND IT WAS EXCITING AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MOVIE TO ANYONE THAT WANTS TO SEE TRUE STORIES FILLED WITH EXCITMENT - SINCERELY, ANNIE B

Catch Me if You Can-True Story
Review created: 06/08/07

This is the first book I ever read cover to cover without putting it down, you'll see why when you watch it. The charming silver tongue devil Leonardo Di Caprio does a marvelous job of sucking them in and you dont hate him for it in the movie....

"Catch Me If You Can" starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks. The DVD is a two-disc set, which features the film in your choice of widescreen or Standard format(why would you want standard?) along with plenty of behind the scenes goodies and documentaries to supplement the film.
I did not see the film when it was released in the theater. I thought about it, but I couldn't overcome my displeasure of Leo DiCaprio and the whole "Titanic" hype. However, now that I have seen it, I regret my hesitance, because it really is a fine film.

Directed by Steven Spielberg, "Catch Me If You Can" is based on the true story of a teenager, who, upon learning of his parents divorce, runs away from home and develops a knack for forging checks and passing himself off as a doctor, a lawyer, and anything else required to maintain his wild lifestyle. The film takes place in the 60's and is full of color and fun. Leo DiCaprio does such a fine job that I forgot all about "Titanic". And Tom Hanks, who plays a government agent out to catch Leo, delivers his best performance since "Saving Private Ryan." The movie is a lot of fun to watch, and, after making such heavy handed films as "Artificial Intelligence" and "Private Ryan", it is good to know that Steven Spielberg can still create a movie as delightful as the ones he made in his prime, such as "Jaws" and "Raiders of the Lost Ark."

  Catch Me If You Can

Pros:
That's some pretty slick stuff he did.

Cons:
Who cares?

Seems like all I've seen for the last week is hype around this Catch Me If You Can. First there was the preview. Then, a cardboard still set up in the movie theater, cleverly placed so that you see it on the way out, not in. (Ya know, so you actually have an idea what it's about and are more likely to be swayed by its presence there.) Then ads all over MSN, in the newspaper, and everywhere. So it was out of sheer curiosity that I made my way out to the theater on Christmas afternoon to catch a look for myself. I won't say that I'm sorry I did see it, because the concept was played out very...

Spielberg, Hanks, and DiCaprio get frothy in Catch Me If You Can

Pros:
Full of style, fun, and pizzazz

Cons:
Feels like a pit stop before Spielberg does something more important

Steven Spielberg's latest film, Catch Me If You Can begins at a Rotary Club awards banquet in New Rochelle, NY. The smarmy Rotary President is giving an award to Frank Abagnale Sr. (Christopher Walken). In the front row, Frank Abagnale Jr. (Leonardo DiCaprio) is beaming with pride and he's also slowly peeling the label off a bottle of wine. Like so many of the great directors, Steven Spielberg is a gifted craftsman, but subtlety is not one of those gifts. The image of the peeled label will return several more times in Catch Me If You Can and serves as an important and appropriate symbol for a.

Catch Me If You Can is humorous and yet heartbreaking

Pros:
Two heroes that grow on you, great visuals, and quite a story underneath it all.

Cons:
There isn't any, really.

Frank Abagnale Jr (Leonardo DiCaprio) is charming, and has more than just a glib tongue on him. He's got charisma, and in spades. And he can spin a lie out and reel you right in. Oh boy, can he spin a lie. We meet Frank as a kid, not much more than fifteen, at home in the comfort of his loving family -- Frank Sr. (Christopher Walken) and Paula (Nathalie Baye). But soon enough this house of cards comes crashing down as Frank Sr is hounded by the IRS and Frank Jr's world spirals out of his grasp. Soon his parents' is falling apart and Frank discovers his talent in life. He's a born con man, as..

Catch Me If You Can - But I Bet You Can t!

Pros:
exceptional acting, famous actors, how much I had to pay to get in...

Cons:
unrealistic plot

It was a Saturday night and I didn t feel like staying home with my wife and daughter in front of the tv set watching Bill Cosby. Instead, I came online to check the show times of a long-time anticipated movie: Catch Me If You Can. My wife and I had been waiting to see if for a long time. So we hired a sitter at the last minute which wasn t cheap, and drove off to the Regal Cinema 18 about a mile or two away from my house. Catch Me If You Can is one of of the greatest movies that I have seen, as I am a very tough movie critic. I saw it with my wife about two weeks ago with a large audience...

Steven Spielberg s CATCH ME IF YOU CAN (2002)
Review created: 05/12/03
by: artbyjude -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Walken, Spielberg's direction, the true story, Hanks, DiCaprio in that order

Cons:
The skinny hairless boy problem

For a movie that won t require a marathon of heavy brainwork on the part of the audience, and offers some genuine entertainment, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN is a good way to spend a couple of hours. I am glad I waited for this to be released in DVD to see it. The extras are worth waiting for. Shot in 52 days, in many locations around the US and Canada, (51), you would never know it from the final result. It is polished, beautifully edited and a nicely finished piece of work. It helps to have Spielberg at the helm, although this is definitely a new type of film for him. It is about as far a departure..
