This is one sweet camera. It is my 3rd digital & is simple to use with many great features such as best shot with like 15 - 20 preset settings. It has a long video recording capability , not just some 30 second clip. The 4x optical zoom is tops in its size. I highly reccomend this camera for beginners & pros alike
I have purchased several camera's in my life, both digital and film, and this is by far the best I've ever used. I took it on my honeymoon to Cozumel, Mexico and was SO pleased with the way the photos looked. They were all in focus and so beautiful and full of detail! You should definatley purchase one!
It is a good camera. It isn't worht the retail of 500, but might be worth the value of 250 i bought it for. Bought it for taking photos. Dislike the fact that it doesn't come with the biggest instruction manual and the different settings are weird. I did a review happy now.
When I received the camera it was broken, the seller sent a shipping label and I returned the item. The seller fixed the item and returned it to me. I would have thought the seller should replace the item but apparently that wasn't to happen. At least I have a camera that works although I will hold my breath to see if nothing else happens. On the whole I have been very satisfied with items I have purchased on ebay although again some sellers try very hard to word their items in a less than honorable way. They try to trick the buyer into thinking something is brand new never out of the box, my advice to all is read the small print two or more times.
If you are a serious photographer or even think that you may be at some time, then this is the camera for you. It has all the bells and whistles you could ever want and yet it allows you to take the day off and shoot in the automatic mode and still produces top rate pictures. The camera is extemely intuitive and is easy to use. The camera is very fast to use, very little (if any) shutter lag and zooms easily through its 4x optical Canon lens. That combinded with a real live optical finder for when lighting is too bright nor too dim to use the 2" LCD to clearly see the subject.
The ability to press a button to enlarge a just shot picture in order to check the focus is very handy as is the live 4 channel histogram. And, the ability to easily make adjustments to your white balance, exposure metering, ISO, and auto focus is something seldom found in even some of the DSLR cameras. Exposure compensation is also easily adjusted.
This is a dream camera in a metal body with excellant optics.
CONs- 2 little things, the skimpy optical view finder needs diopter adjustments and the LCD needs to grow to 2.5" with more pixels.
