I purchased the Casio EXILIM EX S500GY to replace my old point and shoot with a broken LCD. Since I also have a digital SLR, so I was looking for something with fairly decent quality, but size was more important.
Competitvely priced, the Exilim is very thin, allowing it to easily be placed in a pocket without the bulk. It's one of the thinnest and smallest point-and-shoot cameras on the market. Features include a 2.2" LCD, 5.25 Megapixel, 3x optical zoom, anti-shake, and movie mode. For all the details and specs, click 'More Information' above.
Simple controls and quick startup make this camera great for all users. The camera is not cluttered with lots of buttons and jacks, just the basics.
You can preview photos without opening the lens and choose from over 30 'Best Shot' settings, which takes care of changing all the setting details, so you don't have to spend time changing settings before taking a low-light shot.
Comes in 3 colors, with a dock for charging and transferring photos. Doesn't have jack on camera to download photos directly, but I don't mind because I'm either at home so I can use the dock, or I use a card reader to transfer directly to laptop on the go.
The large LCD is great and very bright, which makes it visible in sunlight. The lens is not near a corner, so you won't get many of those blurry finger shots.
