Cars (PlayStation 2)

cute game-- adults can play with kids and have a great time-- mini games are neat and progressively harder.. like the format my 6 year old is hooked

This is a fun filled game that will keep the entire family entertained for hours. If you like the movie cars, you are going to love this PS2 game!

The story is quite the movie and my little sun loved it. I recommend for children from 5 years old. Enjoy the game.

Surprisingly, the "Cars" game is far more difficult than your average racing game. Also, the loading screens take FOREVER to wait through. I was looking for an easy driving game for my 6 year old, but this was way to much. I'll go back to games like micromachine / hot wheels racing.

I bought this game for my son for his birthday.He has wanted this game ever since we watched the movie.He really enjoys playing this game.I am glad I bought it.

Very Fun for children who enjoy everything "cars" nice detail to the story line. Easy to play very entertaining.

When I bid for this item It was for my grandson. I won Bob the builder and also this item. They are under separte sellers but the invoice was sent as one. I only paid for the bob the builder because for the other car's item they wanted $9.95 for shipping was is rediculous. These games are send media mail and no way it cost that much. Very unhappy with the cars came seller and asked them to send a mutual agreement to clear me from this sale. They will not even combine the shipping. This seller wants to profit by charging a rediculous amount for shipping items.

It is very kid Friendly. My 5 year old son loves it. We saw it at the county library and my son just picked up the game controler and took charge. He enjoyed it so much, I had to get it.

My son is 3 1/2 and sits and plays the game ALL day. He loves CARS and loves the game. Definitely worth the money.

The game was exactly as described and pictured. I got it in just a couple of days it was shipped right away. my grandson loves the game. he had one before but it got stolen along with his PS2. He is only 7 and that was his favorite game, so I just had to buy him another one.

I must say, Disney Cars for PlayStation 2 is an excellent game. My kids absolutely love it! Well, so does my husband and he's not much of a person for video games.
You can go Tractor Tippin' with Mater and just like in the movie, you can't let Frank catch you.
There are so many races and mini games, that the game doesn't get boring, ever. There are three different levels of difficulty, for beginners to the more advanced players.
I'm so glad that I purchased this game for my kids.

I like the story mode just like the movie and more it's so cool, What I don't like is that you get to the point where there is no more tracks to open new ones, and I purchased this item for my 4 year old son, he loves it, he even dreams about it LOL

Cars is a racer that continues the story of the automotive characters who appear in the Pixar movie of the same name. Although it was targeted to a younger audience, the game would also appeal to those that would like to play a light arcade racer that doesn't take itself seriously.


What's Good:
The story mode! I like the fact that the developers made the game's plot take place after the movie. Often you'll find movie-based games try to cleverly add story plot points that are supposed to intermix with the movie because basing the game only on the movie wouldn't yield enough game-play time. But this way, you still get to play as your favourite characters (Lightning McQueen for the most part in story-mode) and you get to do so in your favourite locations, without the constraints of following a story line you already know.
Radiator Springs. The town is big enough for you to go cruising around and enjoy a leisurely drive in-between taking on new missions and races.
Unlockables. You have a decent selection of characters to unlock, and a number of different paint jobs and even a few chassis tweaks available for each character. The points required to unlock the bonuses (including movie clips and artwork) aren't too stressful to accumulate either.
Voices. You get many of the actual actors from the movie (including Owen Wilson) to do the voice acting for the game. It's always nice when the game characters voices match that of the movie.
In addition to the story mode I'm going on about, there is of course other modes included. These let you jump right on the speedway either by yourself or with a friend, or let you pick from a selection of mini-games such as Tractor Tipping!


What could have been better:
Driving in reverse is a pain because they automatically switch your view to looking backwards, which then switches your steering control. Of course, you shouldn't be driving in reverse all that often.
The steering control overall could be a little tighter.
Voices. Although the voice actors are the same, the production value isn't always there. Some of the dialog sounds like it's coming from a studio booth instead of the characters in their location.
I'm sure some more seasoned gamers who are also Pixar fans, would have appreciated a little bit more of a challenge.
Although the Radiator Spring courses are varied, the actual race track courses are pretty repetitive. Like NASCAR racing it's more about technique then the track itself. But since cars dumbs down the racing a little bit there's not much technique to worry about, so you find yourself just driving in circles.

A fun experience for gamer-families and "Cars" fans alike.

The game was received in great condition, not in original box w/picture cover but a 4 year old can care less but the book was included. Cover box was in new condition. Made a great gift for a 4 year old who LOVES the movie. We actualy saved about 20 bucks with this purchase and shipping was fast.

My kids loved this movie, and I love racing video games. However, my games (mostly the Gran Turismo series for Playstation) have proved to be much too difficult for my 5 year old son to enjoy. This game has simple control, and has a great deal of references and voices from the movie. My son loves to play it, and his 3 year old sister loves to watch! There is a good deal of replay value, with all of the mini games, and many races (not as deep as GT, but good).

The only negative I can think of, is that the menus can be a bit tough for the kids to navigate, and frequent pop-up messages (saving, quitting, etc...) are somewhat wordy and require more reading than some other children's games.

Overall, this game has been great! Good games, based on movies, don't come along very often. If your kids liked the movie, and have some level of gaming ability, they'll likely love this game.

This is an awesome game! Easy enough for my 2 yr old to play yet fun and challenging enough for the older ones too. Lots of action, sounds and just so much fun. Definitely a great kids game especially if he/she is a Cars fan. Or just loves Nascar or any cars or racing games! Great for any age kids. The characters look just like the movie. Very high quality. Highly recommended!

I decided to buy it because my kids love the movie as do I. I figured if the game was anything like the movie, it would be a blast. Sure enough while they play, they are very entertained and don't argue, like some other games. They get to create other car designs and challenge themselves as well as their mom. Yes, I enjoy it as well...

This is an awesome game. I rented it from GameStop for my 8 y/o son and he loved it so much I went to EBay to purchase it and save A LOT of $$$ doing so. The graphics are terrific and months later, he's still paying it!

I bought this game for my son's 7th birthday. He had a cars theme and it went perfect with it. I love this game, but it works, it keeps him busy during his free time
