Very good retrospective of their carear! Early work to the break up of one of Americas truely great bands! This is the one to buy if you want to hear Grand Funk and their hits! I highly recomend 1971 Live if you have never seen them in concert! Its a truely great performance!
Grand Funk Railroad Rocks, a most underated classic rock band I loved these guys back in the day as did millions of others, but bad reviews and press has caused there to be very little air play today, just "American band" and "Closer to home". So when I saw this CD on ebay and at a great price from a great rated seller I just had to have it. It is a great deal! the CD arrived quickly and in great shape, new and in the shrink wrap. I wrapped it and put it under the tree from santa to me. It plays great and brought back fond memories, Thank you Ebay and thank you Ebay seller and thank you Santa
Grand Funk Railroad (GFR)was one of the best rock bands of the 70s. Their sound was heavy (for the times) but very melodic. This three-piece band definitely sounded more like a 5 piece band. This disc captures the essence of GFR. From songs like "Closer to home/I'm Your Captain", "Walk Like a man" and well-known "We're an American Band" to "Rock-n-Roll Soul", "Some Kind of Wonderful" and "Bad Time", GFR displays their talents in their rockin' songs for all to enjoy. This album ROCKS! Highly recommended collection for anyone who wants to get to know or already knows GFR!

Pros: The best of one of the biggest-selling acts of the '70s.
Cons: For special tastes.
Grand Funk Railroad (aka GFR and Grand Funk) have come along way over the years. Breakups and reunions have kept the group in and out of the limelight for many years now. When GFR first hit the music scene, they were a phenomenon in that they were selling millions of albums without a hit single (even selling out New York's Shea Stadium and beating The Beatles attendance record there). This collection brings both the band's early, r
