Canon ZR 85

The Canon ZR85 allows one to record stills and video on both SD/MMC cards and Mini DV. It has a headphone jack but does NOT have a microphone input. The Canon ZR65MC has both mic and headphone jack.

Camcorder looks new but will not record,it does playback but I don't need a vcr I thought I bought a vidio camera.The seller thinks that it is my fault and that I'm doing something wrong.If I am I would be more than receptive to any advise

Camara is very easy to use for beginers and a great product for the even more skilled user. With its numerous features and available upgrades, new and former Mini-DV users will find this a very nice camera for the money. A wide angle and telescopic lens adds the ability to film various shots in the style the user desides and is very esy to set up. For the cost of the available packages I suggest adding these lenses. Night mode is fairly decent and the anti shake feature is a nice addition. The wieght is great and very easy on the arm. Screen size is above average to other models and is just righ in my opinion. All in all its a great way to break into Mini-Dv or upgrade your existing equipment. I'd give the camera a 9 out of 10 .

I bought this camcorder(Canon ZR 85),because I had the same one before but it got broken. I did`t want to spend a lot of money on the new one so that is why I decided to buy the one from e-bay.I made greate choice ,because this camcorder works like new...it is small and simple to use!

We love the digital format available also the ease of use. This camera's digital camer feature is very bad quality low pixels. The camera is very easy to use and it looks great.

I currently own a Canon ES8200V HI-8 camcorder. I chose to stay with Canon because of my extreme satisfaction with the ES8200V. I chose the ZR85 to be the upgrade replacement.

The main reasons for selecting this model is its size, weight and all the features included for the price paid. The quality of the wind noise reduction feature was a pleasant surprise. The visual and audio quality is awesome. This unit is user friendly.

The audio/visual quality when connected to a television is superb, which makes for a high quality transfer to VHS or DVD.

I'm still in the process of learning how to operate all the features/functions of this unit.

The only thing that I have found disappointing about this unit is the following function: When you are recording a subject and decide to take a still photo of the subject, which takes approximately 7 seconds; at the end of this time, the recorder goes to the 'pause' mode which I found out the hard way when recording a marching band performance, since I didn't read the manual beforehand. My older ES8200V would continue normal recording after using the photo feature.

I would recommend this model/line to anyone that is wanting to purchase a MiniDV camcorder.

This camera is sick i cant really think of another word to describe it. It give you the ability to recorde and later on go back and take pictures, recording can be done through the memory card or the mini tape..... this cam is an all in one if you like recording and taking digital quality picture
