Absolutely amazing! Both songs will leave you tingling!

These are two timeless songs of Elton John's. I don't know how anyone could not feel moved by the beauty of these songs. "Candle in the Wind" rewritten to honor Princess Diana makes you feel the loss to not only England, but the world. She did so much good and was taken much too quickly. "Something in the Way" is another tear-jerker for those in love. Remembering special times and those special feelings is brought about by this remarkable artist. Elton John has a special way of putting together amazing lyrics and beautiful music.

  Warmed by "Candle"

Candle in the Wind by Elton John was a beautiful and moving tribute to the late Princess Diana. You can hear the emotion in his voice as he sings and there is even a catch in his voice when he sings "Lovliness we've lost..." I get goosebumps every time I listen to this song. It is a "must have" for anyone who really understood the grace and kindness of a woman who was taken from us too soon and the lessons she taught us in her short time here. I may not be from England, but I don't believe you have to be in order to know that Princess Diana touched many hearts and lives around the world. She was a true HUMANitarian. I wish the U.S. could be run by someone who cared more for human beings than money.

I bought this cd when it came out 10 years ago. It is so beautiful. I made me cry when I first listened to it. I took it out today, and listened to it and had the same reaction. I love Elton John, and I adored princess Diana. This cd is a great tribute to BOTH of them.

Had a lot of problems finding this version of Candle in the Wind. This was a gift to someone very special who really wanted this version to this song. To see her face when receiving the gift was great.

Thank you very much

I bought this cd cause I'm a big fan of Elton John's and this cd has the song he wrote about princess Diana and It's so spooky because it describes diana to a T you can't get any closer than that besides it was beautifully written and nobody but elton john can do sing with the heart and soul as he does, the other song " something about the way you look tonight" I love as well I just can't get enough of his sultry voice as he always seems to pull you in with his
mesmorizing lyrics.

When Princess Diana died this Elton John sang this song. It made me cry, I had huge lumps in my throat & I started choking with tears. But I listened to it often, and it also helped many people heal in thier heart the pain they felt when she passed.

  In Loving Memory of Diana
Review created: 05/03/08

Pros:
Beautiful music.

Cons:
None!

The year was 1997, and I was standing on the stoop of my dormitory in College. That was the night when I received news about 2 people passing away: Biggie Smalls and Princess Diana. I was surprised to hear such awful news and saddened to come to the truth that what I heard was real. 11 years later, I came across a CD featuring music in loving memory of Diana, Princess of Wales by Elton John. And today, I finally listened to Candle In The Wind 1997/Something About The Way You Look Tonight [Single]. I was thrilled with the music featured and really happy to listen to such energy being delivered.

"Something About the Way You Look Tonight"

Pros:
Great Tribute, Elton John

Cons:
NONE

Yes, Something About The Way You Look Tonight, is also included on this beautifully sung, beloved tribute to Princess Diana. Is this song the reason I bought this CD? NO, of course not. I bought it for the title track Candle In The Wind! While watching the deeply moving funeral to a woman I believe to be admired by so many, in stepped a performer by the name of Elton John, with a beautifully, moving tribute to Lady Diana Princess of Wales. Just the words of this song brought me to tears, Goodbye England's Rose, May you ever grow in our hearts, you were the grace that placed itself where lives.

  A Tribute To Princess Diana

Pros:
A memory for all to share

Cons:
We lost a Great Princess

I have always been a fan of Elton John, however I don't ever recall enjoying a tribute so much as for the one he wrote to Princess Diana after her death in 1997. The song is titled England's Rose also known as Candle in the Wind. "It seems to me you lived your life like a candle in the wind, never fading with the sunsets when the rain set in, and your footsteps will always follow you along England's greenest hill's, Your candle's burned out long before your legend ever will." (Your singing it in your mind now aren't you?) What a tribute to a wonderful lady that helped the entire world! It was.

  Ode to the People's Princess
Review created: 08/17/01
by: bobbo428 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Sincere, heartfelt tribute to Princess Diana

Cons:
Not enough radio airplay

Note: I chose this recording as the subject of my 97th epinion because Princess Diana left us in 1997. Princess Diana left us on August 31, 1997 when she perished in a terrible car crash. A week later, for an opinion writing class I recall writing an essay called "Who Killed Princess Diana? We did." Our curiosity fueled the Paparazzi's relentless pursuit of her. Well, on to the song. The original "Candle in the Wind" was written in 1973, as a tribute to Marilyn Monroe, who, like Princess Diana, also died at age 36. "Candle" was a cut on Elton's album, "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road." However, I...

Armchair Remembers Princess Diana, On The Eve Of Her 40th Birthday, July 1, 2001
Review created: 06/30/01
by: armchair -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Historic souvenir, as performed at the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales.

Cons:
Reworked version of the original classic 70's song previously dedicated to Marilyn Monroe.

Where were you when the terrible news came to you about Diana? I arrived at my parents home for lunch on Sunday, August 31, 1997 to the news that she and Dodi had been in a terrible car accident in Paris and that tragically, he had died along with the driver of the vehicle, Henri Paul. This was shocking enough and so sad for Diana and we sat and drank tea as if this terrible loss had happened to a dear friend. Shortly after came the shocking news. Diana, Princess of Wales had died in a Paris hospital. The announcement seemed somehow surreal, simply unbelievable. It felt as though a member of..
