I loved Everything about it. It was interesting to understand, I had to watch it several times to completely understand how the political canidate had set up things to work to his advantage. No witness testified. But i think that would have exposed the canidate for what he really was. Mobster himself.
once again...i loved the sevice & the dvd...both were excellent! it was the first noted role for robert duval, the cab driver, who as we all know would go on to major roles and stand-out performances....the stunt work displayed was vastly superior to any seen up to this work. many great actors & actresses made this film seem real.the condition & appearence of the dvd was great.
"KING OF COOL" -- WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE!? GREAT CAR CHASE, VILLAINS YOU LOVE TO HATE, McQUEEN GETS 'EM ALL! HOLLYWOOD NEEDS TO RETURN TO THESE KIND OF FLICKS AND HEROES!!
Steve McQueen in the title role was...........Steve McQueen, playing the part of a tough no nonsense cop. The plot was somewhat weak and the sequense of events a little disjointed. Still a well done film with one remarkable chase scene, with McQueen doing the actual driving of the Mustang. Worth watching for the "muscle" cars of the day. If this isn't your cup of tea, this film is probably not for you.
I have to admit I bought the movie for the famous chase scene with Steve McQueen (Det. Bullitt) in a late 60's Mustang 2+2 and the 2 quite, methodical killers riding high in a Dodge Charger RT (black of course). The chase scene through the streets of San Francisco is awesome and set the mark for any cinema chases to try and better. If you watch it several times, it's fun to spot some of the same 'innocent' cars nearly wrecked during the chase and of course, the time sequence where you can observe headlights, hubcap covers, fenders etc. all mixed up in the excitement of the chase. But what about the movie? A very intriquing plot with the main character police Detective Frank Bullitt (Steve McQueen) trying to keep the health status of a protective mob witness assigned to Mcqueen a secret. Exciting action, very good character acting, and the beautiful city of San Francisco make this a complete film which should keep your senses intent while balistic during the 'chase'. Note: Ford Motor Company made 2 of the chase Mustangs - one of which was crushed due to damage during the chase - and the other in a private collection. Through the years, Ford has also honored the film by producing 'Bullitt' Mustangs in very limited production. Also well worth mentioning is that the late Steve McQueen did his own stunt driving in the chase. This movie is a 'Don't Miss'!
This was the best movie the Steve McQueen ever made. He did the driving in the chase scene himself against everyones advise. The movie was shot on the streets of San Francisco on a Sunday morning and gave a new realism to the story. The small part of a taxi driver was played by an unknown new actor, Robert Duvall. I was so thrilled by this movie in 1968, that I bought the same Mustang that year and still have it. This movie was the goundbreaker for all the chase movies that came after.
I saw the movie on the big screen because I always liked Steve McQueen. I loved the chase scene and that is why I wanted the DVD. The disc and the case were in great shape when it arrived. I will enjoy watching the movie many times.
What is there no to dislike the great Steve McQueen. The best car chase scene ever done. I bought this item for a good friend who also loves a great car chase.
