Led Zeppelin Box Set 2, together with the 4-disc Led Zeppelin Box Set, gives you all the music contained in the band's studio albums throughout their career, all the way through the Coda album. The sound is very good IMHO. In addition, the packaging -- the box itself, the booklet inside, and the inserts and photos, are excellent. Highly recommended, especially if you already have the first Box Set.
I bought the first box set at costco, thinking that it contained all of Led Zeppelin's studio songs. Then I found out it didn't and needed to get this second box set, which is hard to find. So hard, that my ebay order was cancelled. I ended up buying somewhere else for a lot more money. Oh well.
The box itself is excellent, the packaging I mean. The booklet is great with a lot of info about the songs and the band. All of the songs are remastered and sound great, the only thing is that all the best songs were assembled for the original boxset, and this one really only serves to tie up loose ends, so to speak. If you're a Led Zep completist, this is great for you if you have the first box set along with this one. The two together compiles all of the bands studio output, and are much cheaper than purchasing the 10-disc Complete Studio Recordings box. For the casual fan, or someone who just wants to hear more of Led Zep's songs that you don't hear on the radio, then this is for for you.
This is a great 2 CD box Set. With 32 songs spanning Led Zeppelin's career, this Box Set is a must have for the Zep fan that wants to pop these CD's in their stereo and "kick back". Not only does this 2 CD set have some of Led Zeppelin's well known standards that we all know and love but, it also has a few goodies that make you think, "hey, I remember that one". The only disappointment with this box set is the previously unreleased song "Baby Come Home". This song made me realize that some previously unreleased songs should remain unreleased. This song offers nothing except maybe the knowledge that even a Super Group can have an off day. All in all, I'd have to say that this Box Set truly has the "Hammer of the Gods".
