Boney James - Body Language

Pros: could be a classic
Cons: songs too short, and not enough songs
One of the best jazz cd's I have heard in a long time. In comparison to older jazz this cd will eventually rate along with the classics. The flow of songs is more than enough to keep one's interest and the arrangements were very well done. The one thing I did not like was the shortness of the songs and the fact that there were not as many songs as there are on other cd's. All in all I found it to be a fine example of Boney James' work. I hope that future endeavors will do just as well with some minor improvements.
This 1999 Warner Bros. release by Boney James, produced by Paul Brown and Boney James in digital audio is jazz that even I understand and appreciate. The sounds are smooth and mellow to the senses. It's almost like lying next to a "babbling brook" while sun filters through the whispering trees upon your face. Are You Ready? (the first selection) has just the right mix of saxophone, keyboards, electric and acoustic guitar combined with the vocals so that no part is more important than another. You just have to smile and let the troubles melt away. Into The Blue presents the same measure of...

BONEY "PLAYS THE BODY"

Pros: Good listening music for sax lover's
Cons: Not for traditional sax lovers
As a newly recruited fan of Boney James, I decided to buy this album to see if it lived up to his last. To my surprise it did...and I must say exceptionally well. After seeing him perform at the Hampton, VA Jazz Festival this past June, I can say the he has the potential to become one of the all-time alto/tenor sax players. His technique is smooth and soothing with a slick sophistication that transcends even his wildest expectations. Boney's music is for those that want to listen to laid-back, body-smacking, play-it-again fans.

Pros: it is wonderful
Cons: none
I have just gotten the new Boney James cd, Body Language... it is one of the best cds I have heard this year. I can't stop listening to it. especially the song called Body Language,, hence the title song, it is my favorite. If you are going to listen to this cd, definitely have someone of the opposite sex, sitting with you, low lights , wine, and Boney on the stereo... There are some vocals that are so soulful, rather rhythm and blues, and so sexy also...He truly is a master!!! If you like jazz, I say run out and get a copy of Body Language, you will love it....

Music to Groove To

Pros: Good music to relax to, soulful jazz
Cons: could have had more songs
I will start by saying this:if you never buy another CD by Boney James, this is the one to get. Why? Well, I for one know that this is probably one of the first jazz CD's I've listened to and it just blew me away.In Body Language, James not only plays his saxophone to perfection, but he also slowly but surely seduces the listener as well. Out of the whole CD, by far the two best cuts on there is "I Will Always Love You" and "I Get So Lonely." In both of these songs, you not only hear the wailing of James' saxophone, but soulful singing as well.I bought this CD because of these songs, however..
